One is the games own slider up topmost,
The second is done after via dlss or fsr, and depends on the quality option (perf, balanced, quality)

So I've been doing some experimenting with bows and staves. It appears from experimentation and stopwatch tests that the stats on an equipped weapon don't actually activate at all unless the item is IN YOUR HAND, either by holding down Q to keep the ranged item ready, or having it in a slot on your bar and having that slot selected. Is that intentional? Having mana restore/spiritual on a staff, for onstance, doesn't really benefit you at all if it's not your active slot on your bar.

Also, back into the Shroud just assumes for me that the sliders are what is the advertisement yet. I'd still hope for more enemy variety in the Shroud, especially Nomad and Kindlewastes area wise.

i like that enshrouded isnt a sort only type of game, and rather crafting stations will pull from chests so in most cases you don't need organized chests at all, ideally it would all be modular, every chest just adds to 1 storage system, so even if i put a stack of salt in 1 chest, and then a totally different chest, the game will find the salt within the whole storage system and combine them... but alas it is not modular.

If youre just starting out all of the classes will be kinda meh. Most classes will get a significant power boost at around lvl 12-15 and again at 23-25ish. And then from there on obviously getting proper weapons/armor and all the skill points from elixir wells

Anything could happen ^^ even something like 'oh the naming/numbering of build items doesnt work if we want to add this cool thing so we have to remake and rename them in a new system' and older parts would be pointing to non-existant items. Thus save unuasable.

I dont think that will happen, but with experience its good to be wary and just not get attached to anything to be ready and deal if ^^

Have to remind oneself that its like a continous beta test at this point. It might not make sense to have the one save to 'keep playing with' all into full release, just in sensible case

yeah but what people look forward to is different for everyone, more map will matter to some more than weather would for example, the new update with the game settings might get some people to play, but i think only a big content update that adds more map will get me to play for example.

i guess because i have a bunch of games with intricate game settings, but i choose the standard and roll with it in most games... my play style is not to replay the game 10 times with different settings, i'm like a one and done player.

I feel like thats valid, I mean its been 40-50 years of video game development. There are things that work and lessons learned, I think its fair to expect certain things from the industry.

personally i like when games keep updating for 10 years, like no mans sky has, but there is also the camp of players (and developers) who want their game to have an end and be finished, and not just be a constant project for all eternity. so i guess timelines matter a bit for those people and those developers.

maybe because those devs also want to make the second iteration of their game, like house flipper 2, or valheim 2 etc.

For instance Valourant make statements about people with ADHD and mental health and what they think they do in public and why, about what lawyers in game copyright cases do wrong. And kinda iffy statements of that kind that clumsily paints groups in a bad/silly manner

So, i am not very 'benefit of the doubt' with how they adress things at this point.

Anyways, thats the why. As for enshrouded theyve been exemplary so far so i feel confident it will keep going forward ^^

I think they’ve generated most of the terrain, it’s just actually building onto it

Though when I looked at the area for the swamp it was mostly flat and trees, so they sculpted and changed terrain

I think they also removed a bit of the unused terrain outside of the EA area with the swamp update

but hypothetically if the devs knew today that their statement of the game being out of early access by 2025 was going to be missed by 6 months, would devs usually reveal that right away or do they typically wait for the deadline to come and pass, and then say "oh yeah we've known since july that we were already behind by 6-8 months and it would be 2025 of august."
