Did you also see it was much higher level than the player 👀
Tbh.
Within the roulette of "you OP, you OK, you're trash" now Ranger needs to be OP, warr being nerfed and Mage to be decent
I mean their gameplay, since Ranger gets a bit of addition with dagger update
would love to see they add similar thing to other class
got my coffee, lets see if it changes my life
Yeah. But there are 2 implications:
- It cannot be a difficulty setting, because a setting that just levels up enemies does not rly make sense no? Won't exclude it at all but that would be a strange decision if we got to change everything else at all.
- I do not remember seeing such a clutter of full armored enemies anywhere else. That may be now the difficulty settings but hey.
I’m fairly sure it’s the red shroud south of the capital
But I admit, from that what I saw the buildup seems like the first Well actually.
Went into a chasm south of The Pike and found a large cave with a lot of Fell enemies all level 14-15, lots of small enemies but there were Fell Brutes and Fell Scythe enemies as well.
No chests to note but large area with a large cluster of enemies seems interesting. Excited for future content!
I miss shield cancel
what the actual ...
Could also be.
We'll see.
I was fighting my way there too, but it felt more like the entrance to something big. Like the core of the Shroud.
It’s Aldi for the shroud actually
looks sick
if its +5 enemy levels per difficulty setting I'm going to lose my shit
Prim advertising his channel in here
That’s my personal I can advert my YouTube if you want
If you can adjust enemy level that would be a sad implication that regular enemys are way too weak.
Especially if you already can set stats for them
I won't ask for which purposes that personal YT Channel is.
"hey guys, its me again..."
We need warframe in enshrouded
More Diablo

I need sweaty combat
too sweaty
kek
You can set the difficulty to CrankyOldGamer, or up to +500% for the regular enemies

Shroud Souls
But harder
I feel with these tunings even the lvl 1 wolf in the beginners area has a fair chance to kill u
Idk if the combat for enshrouded is finely tuned yet for me to care much about it
More difficulty options are great, feels a tad clunky at times. But it can only get better
Theres a big gap not only between classes but also between weapons for now
I think mage nerf needs to be reverted now. 😅
Can barely imagine that any tank could withstand an enemy dealing +500% damage
And the Green Cleaver guy will get unhinged 😂
green sicklscythe's
Gimme weapon abilities
I wanna leap in the air and stab stuff with my daggers. Throw an axe at stuff.

heya
😶🌫️
But I see funny new modes and implications to try out.
True Assassins mode. Everyone needs to play Assassin, all enemies deal lethal damage and have reduced awareness.
You need to sneak em out.
If they see you, you're done for
i only play assassins for the environment
I wave at you
medusa's lair dungeon
I have a (bad) feeling this will only enrich the gameplay
more footwork more passion more energy 💃
especially more energy
But hey CUB.
Do I need to peel my eyes or was there an indication of enemies being level 35 now in the teaser and all those speculations and implications that come with that.
Or was it also a setting.
I'll give u a bisquit for more stamina.
the enemies were level 35 but I'm not sure they were legit enemies
I mean, the surrounding reminds me of the first Well but Boss + adds now
It was faked!?

I thought we were good and honest around here. Next you’ll tell me the shroud was a hoax too.
have you seen anyone else enter the shroud? what makes you think you are special, flameborn?
thats whats in that "dungeon"... other survivors
I hope at the end of the game we fall unconscious in the shroud wake up still in the shroud.
Even tho I never played that game I know this scene.
The Game ends with us waking up in the starting vault again
NG+ the world changes based on your achievements
If that means no need for Altars anymore and Shroud gone I'm in.
thats the all roots cleared scenario
Btw. I laughed for real when I saw that level 2 mage charge into the fight.
Just bring a level 2 mage to a cleaver party with lvl 35 enemies.
But what happens if I visit all Flame shrines
the last flame bender
I’d love to see emotes added to the game.
Stop it or Keen will make a movie
I wanna hit the griddy
I still enjoy squatting morse code
You just don’t want to admit you want the Fortnite dance in game
with toasts voice narrating?
With luck you'll even hear his Toaster getting done with Toasting in the background
Was that Toast on the sneak peek 👀
I miss Frog.
Summon more people Van.
lurking in the shadows
Random27
Sadly you're late.
So you get a cookie.
🍪
thanks, I take it
I think random is fighting crime
Just get the headlight and project an mirrored R72 into the air
that was Toast doing the answers, yes
in the Minas Tirith video
if you're asking about that
I don’t know anymore, I seem to have lost my train of thought
🤓
If I get any faster as I am right now I'm very soon at home.
And yea, I know some of you are already.
I haven’t left my house in a few weeks
I loved seeing the new video posted about difficulty and seeing people who rot in their chairs complain in the comments that "number inflation for difficulty sucks" rhetoric even though Enshrouded didnt even need to add this in lmfao
agree imagine people form own opinions .. Just #ugh
I honestly don't know what else they could do at this stage without disturbing the "simple" flow of the early game.
I mean, with the implementation of newer enemies it'll get harder naturally
i have to agree with the take that inflating numbers to increase difficulty is not the most enjoyable.
but its that or a combat / enemy rehaul
and its sliders anyway so its completely customizeable so there also is no real issue with it being in the game
Oh I do agree, I dont think its the best approach for a game oriented around difficulty. But enshrouded did not start with this as an option from the get go, so I am fully behind why they have yet to go down another route
I think it is more a precursor to them giving us just customization options for the game fullstop
Let's see what else will come before going into hype mode.
Next teaser ETA? Until then I go sleep.
Not impressed at all. The devs need to fix bugs first.
yeh, you tell em!
toasts when!?
Keen cant tease me like that
Ill file a lawsuit for making me wanting to replay the game on max difficulty
But not actually giving me the update

i am unsure, not a fan
i don t play for combat
I live for it
Well that may not be the sole thing anyway.
Also, I think they'll add more features then the last times.
yes obs
With alot of luck it'll even be a new biome.
At least I hope for it.
I doo see your point but also... once there is alot of content they can focus on polishing .. cause atm there is no point do polishing if they are keep pumpuing with an content once they push as many they can and people get busy with all they offer .. than " major patchses can slow down and focus on polishing the game
because i belive there is gonna be time when we are gonna see Major content updates rarely
Finetuning should always come after the stuff has been done.
Game breaking bugs okay, little bugs that won't cause big harm can be taken to the afterburner, because with patching in new stuff other will go broke
I mean are there many gamebreaking bugs?
yap my point
never found big one so far
Not to my knowledge yet
The only onces ive encountered is falling through the map once in a while and the Barriers not dissolving in the HH
but workarounds are possible
What gate?XD
in hallow halls last area
but haven t tried it after it first appeard and i could clear it in a 3d attemp by making some parkour.
All good
i ve also fallen through map
but it was fixed after restarting the game, cuz it put me at the first vault
other than that i haven t noticed any major issues
I hope that temperatures in the open world will be lowered with the next patch.
Hopefully the devs will NOT give you guys water
but instead theyll give you snow
I'd also be fine with coins tbh.
Remove building completely + implement coins
im 95% certain we're getting snow, its already in the game
We dont have coins though
true
Ideas for economy system for the game: 69 runes will make 1 minicoin, 420 minicoins makes 1 coin
10 coins will give you the next update immediately
Sorry guys, I have semesterholidays and im vibing way too mucj
take ur words back
No water + full combat focus
Make this thing like WoW
Jkjk
Actually really dig the building
Isnt 2 dollars better than 1 dollar?
it doesn t work this way
The same way 2 wows is better than 1 wow
Not when youre spensing 50 dollars foe both those dollars
also there will be aspects of both games that you like, that arent in the other game, and youll get frustrated that they arent in that game ...
How am I supposed to have a normal conversation with you?
me ? normal?
The goal in life is to play as many wows as possible

XD
hell no
1 WoW is one too many
let me relax and stop adding monsters with 120398529056273572 hp and dmg
Hey my warlock doing that as DOS
*dps
stop playing retail
Played classic a while ago
Just run through Retail recently and its actually quite goof
Good

Yessir
I WOULD DO IT AGAIN
Imagine people still playing classic even they nuked it to the ground.. With Just changing Guild roster menu XD
Sadge
Tbh.
I liked Remix.
as someone that never experienced the game back in the day, no matter how classic is. Still gives me a good chunk of how it was..
love classic
I actually disliked Plunderstorm.
It's the Battle Royal component of it
And that it was tied to a faction.
And because I met humans there that were not...
Let's say sane/normal
at least was challange.. Remix? you get one geared freiend and afk till he does all the raid clearing
i did it once and i got bored after one raid just following him
and i missed frog farm
due being on Vecation xD
The Error is you don't do it yourself.
I got at least 10 chars dinged to max
i have around 40 chars on lv 70
On Ravencrest/silvermoon/Tarren mill and Draenor XD
Theres one player trying to solo all heroic raids & mythic.
Challenge lies in that
But yea. Plunderstorm was my chore. And rage bait bc. ppl couldn't let you be.
But hey... As long as they implement that as it's own thing outside of anything WoW related next time I'm fine with that
Anyway.
Back to the we change all blocks into coins.
also: how about we just make Enshrouded into a puzzle/jumpn run game
skip all the building or RPG bs
ONLY HH puzzles
Like escape room
Enshrouded is just one long HH´ barrier puzzle game
Whatever you sniffed - share
sniffed the infinity stones
Anyone looking to join a server, we are looking for 2 more players to join us.
That sounds unhealthy
Sure you can still breath through your nose?
whats a vukah
Summer hibernation?
Oh no. He wants us to feel all nice and cozy. Shudders.
yep, I'm a kind fellow
but I can also cut you in
except I don't want to
but I could
I'd be careful.
In Valheim I got the black belt and 100 skill in daggers
But my weak spot is bows.
Got only 70 skill.
I'm pretty good at it, but from a long distance, in short range, I'm a mess
the aim of a stormtrooper
I can honestly better aim in Valheim than Enshrouded, in the latter mobs tend to be fidely
Yup the bow system in valheim feels a bit easier (If I can say lel)
not easier
I will say more visual
I don't know how to say it
but I hit more
xD
I really need to practice my english a bit more... I've lost so much
the worst part is that my accent is nearly perfect, thanks to the Australian woman I grew up with but god, the vocabulary, the grammar and stuff...
sometimes I feel sorry to speak with you
Wlel the vocalarby isn't eevn necassery yuor bairn will conlucde the right oredr by itlesf as long as the fsirt and lsat letter are in the right place
But grammar is a whole other topic.
I just avoid speaking in past tense or future.
I call it "gamer now"
the worst part for me is to know how to place the S
when it comes
it feels
you know
past sentence and future ones are ok for me I guess
difficulty settings look good, excited for it. See a lot of settings besides just dmg and health.
You German if I remember well ? @quasi saffron
If I feel like it
Could visit the Keen studios in 2h 40ms if I want, but CUB forbid me
you can see some screenshots of every option that have been shown in the trailer in #creative-corner
Especially:
- enemy attack frequency
- simultaneous attacks
- perception
I'm not so far from Germany tho, maybe I'll go give em a box of chocolate one day
damn I was constantly pause unpausing the video already XD
same xD
Yeah. Would've appreciated if they'd have been faster, so pausing is even part of the hard settings
like, show it for 0,3s
yup, difficulty begins with this trailer
frame perfect pause
I've noticed lvl 35 ennemies too
....
Never met some If I remember well
maybe new shroud roots
new ... SKILL POINTS
at the right time paused
as all things should be.
put the glove down RIGHT NOW
We got already told it was a "scenery" in the first well set up for the trailer.
sudden drama -undrama
but never try to fool me again or I will eat all the chocolate in the box that was FOR you at first @KeenGAmes
But the glove is my cursor.
Well, you're too late.
CUB said already he bought too much dark chocolate and maybe he'll try to poison us with it at the party. (obviously a joke!)
I am a native english speaker and I feel like I should apologize on behalf of the language because it can be so tricky.
I'm French, I wont blame you at all English native speaker brother
You'll be forgiven, native speaking one.
But why do you speak on behalf of an entire language that was not made by you?
Maybe he feels Guilty for perpetauting it
Somebody needs to lol
We all would feel more guilt if german would've happened to be spoken world wide. Trust me.
Our grammar is hell.
i love the way german sounds though
languages are one of the coolest thing in the world from my point of view. In a way it's sad that all of us cant understand each others whenever we want too, but in a other hand it brings so any funny interactions xD
Oh it sounds very flowery.
But behind the scenes the grammar has a knife
Could you do my homework from before ~10 years on a daily basis please?
I wont, did'nt even did mine...
Actually I loved to do my BWL
But I hated any language (even german) the same.
I think that loves for aother language came from the fact that I traveled a lot when I was a kid, thanks to my parents
The very reason why I forbid language in my Enshrouded kingdom. Only morse squatting allowed
My wife speaks 13 languages so if I piss her off I get cursed out in 13 ways
Thats a whole lot to swear
but in school, French language was one of the worst thing for me
doing poetry
righting long disertations
reading boring books
Looks left and right for CUB
and know I'm a professional musician, with a special skill for lyrics...
what I've done
OMG
so classy
You just insulted his entire uh...
huh?
I know that his excellency got a humour that we can not all understand
If I remember right he learned languages. He comes from french.
but this one was hard
yup I'm one of those rare frenchs
I'll also take some fries with u
what about a little bit of comté ?
No, mayonnaise isn't an instrument patrick
🤣
I can manage some canadian french I grew up on the canadian border of and cajun french
but you can slap it like a drum
yeah very different kind of french speaking
and the ''casual'' french speaking from ten years is very different that the one now
it has evovled so fast
And when a natural cajun speaker gets going it sounds like they are from a different planet I swear
Does "casual" French speaking imply that there's "hardcore" French speaking?
Is speaking French like a drug addiction
Cajun/Louisianan French and Québec French are closely related because of New France. I only know sacres lmao
but it something we are quite use to. I mean, they are maybe hundreds of different accent here in france.
That's why I never understood why french are so hard with the french speakers that tries to speak other language with french accent
I can: Speak german.
Look very confused if I hear my girlfriend talking with her austrian accent
Downright look disturbed if another girlfriend starts talking in her austrian accent (because she gets that fast, even sound cannot come after her)
Some english but with black belt of google translator
And hi Toast
Some loose spain / french vocabularys
xD no I meant more like ''the every day way of speaking''
I prefer my theory
GRÜSS GOTT
I love that guy! met him a few times
maybe too much for here
You said once you live in our walls.
Well, you've got bad luck Toast. You live in my Toaster & I live in your reality in your wallet.
I Hope it's a cozy wallet
It's leather
I mean, you're not supposed to eat the leather
Oddly enough I am hungry now.........
That comes when they're worn more often
toast with marmite it is
Someone said LSD?!
I wont go further in this conversation. I was right about to tell that a bit of sweating can make the deal...
Nope... but ...
you know...
after all the end is near
Yeah lSD Long Standing Debt
......sorry I missed something there my bad
Whoever drives this bus
We need to start reading the signs
How did we come from difficulty sliders up here?
ummm the wonders of the human mind??? lol
Im so confused
me too
Ye man
Should I now feel guilt because I derailed discussions already before most of you joined in here?
Yes
How dare you
Now dont actually
So back to the game world am I the only one hoping there is more than the difficulty settings?? those dont mean much to me I want building stuff!
Nah don't feel like it anyway
Yeah, I would like more too
I dont feel like thats all its going to be
The ysaid that Gamescom will be the place for a ''reveal'' of something
Which means new areas to explore
Now extra for builders:
Fall damage slider up to x5 times the damage
Slow fall slider
Option to disable gliding to safe you
The "no block reset possible" hardmode
22 August, so Maybe the options update will be all for the summer update, and more to come in autumn
My completely unrelated picture of my face which has nothing to do with keen whatsoever
XD
yummy
They'll make pictures.
They'll reveal their community.
Plotwist: Their game is just malware
I dont want to be revealed!
I should bring my girlfriend.
Somehow no camera up to this day ever could take a picture of her
but yeah I feel like We are going to get the options update for the summer, maybe few stuffs more in it but not so much. And more to come with the Gamescom annoucement
She's immune to Keen trying to reveal her
Ummm she isnt imaginary is she?
You think its going to be 2 updates?
if they just bring more options than just difficulty mod it would be so great. Like new controller settings, maybe a HUD manager or something
i really hope so
maybe accessibilty options
Fair
Would be crazy because I met her already 4-5 times IRL
(She lives 10hrs away from me, so we can only see 2 weeks a year by now)
I see that
maybe can't be sure
Im excited anyways
Maybe finished game by the end of the year?
1.0 release
Prolly unlikely
I cant wait to get the mountains I love building in the snowy areas
Reveal at Gamescom:
“Game is finished, thanks for the money, baiii!”
Before the release, 3 more new biomes for the vukah ^^
also add vukah taming
The 3 biomes are:
Vukah stuck in tar
Vukah burning on a stick
Shroukah
"We restrain from any further work, we could have the difficulty options implemented but theres a tiny bug and I honestly cba anymore. Have a good one, bye!"
I need more inmates for my prison as well
Does the snow areas then have white vukahs?
Bro, what
Polar Vukah
I am making like a dark wizards lair complete with dungeon
Diff options, meh.
Moar content and enchanting remake, yes.
The 'add runes for preset bonuses' is kinda not fun as upgrade imo,
Needs choices and variety ^^
Btw, stupid question, but what are the default monsters called that live in the shroud
The Fell
and Taming vukhas would be SO GREAT, my vukhas neighbors from fort kelvin would not try to kill me anymore
Oh okay
we could be FRIENDS
Get the skill to make them friendly
I just call the fell crusty boys lol
it is really far awayn, I think it would cost me 16 skills points
and I'm 25
xD
Beastmaster should have the skill to have stuff and come fight for you
Spent 100 runes to roll one of 200 secondarys - good luck.
Those secondarys btw. range from 1% to 10% upgrade.
Wait. Who invited Diablo
Well, make a second character who tames them!
I wish something like the ring in shadow of mordor, where you can control the minds of ennemies to fight with you
or necromancer skills
idk
Well, another 200hours going to begin right now...
Haha, it’s not so long the second time. I usually skill them with mining and such to level up fast, run the missions and roots right quick. Casual play you’ll be lvl 25 in 8 hours or less
I already made a second character, lvl 4 or 5 I guess, I made it last week. And to be honest, I was like doing everything as I was discovering the game again xD
when I discovered that we were able to make plenty characters..
I did a role play map
yup
I did it
well, I'm still doing it
But that is a cool option to be able to have many characters
I JUST HOPE
more body types
I would like to have a character like Oswald the carpenter
Have your other characters as NPC in your base.
And just switch to them by talking to them
play them
exactly
I think ''townfolks npcs'' should have somthing like that with it
I always have the gud ideas
I think we should blend into the advertisements now.
yeah you maybe right
but I think I'm going to
BUILD
well, see you later y'all !
I'm hoping they increase the level cap to like 50
Needs more areas and skillboard needs many more nodes for 25 more levels to be useful
a 5 level increase would be cool with the next patch.
A lot of skill points don't come from leveling, though.
They should do the EA patches like WoW expansions. New area, level cap increased by 5-10. But I guess that only works if the new areas are all designed for later and later game.
What on earth is happening to this platform lol
Yeah the current "max level" power is definitely not where we'll keep it, but we also aren't gonna arbitrarily expand it until there's content to justify that
OMGGGGGGGGGGG
Levels in general are not where a lot of player's power comes from anyway
Yeah, I realized that when I was like level 15-20. I'm at 25 now and still missing so many skill points.
Haven't even got flame strength at max yet because I just neglected to collect enough of various ingredients, even though I already got all of the heads I needed.
I hate that, big part of why I quit wow. If I spend 2 years polishing a character and grinding gear I expect it to be of value when an expansion comes out, not immediately replaced by greens
A co-worker got me into WoW a few years ago. He got me up to speed and we played through.... I forget the name... Zandaria? That whole expansion before what I think should still be the current one.
I had to go back and do like all the shroud roots to get my points after i hit max level lol
And I had just started tweaking some of my gear and going on raids with his clan when pre-patch dropped. Then I focused on getting one character of every class to the new level 50.
And then I kinda hated the whole new expansion.
And then he stopped playing anyway because he also hated grinding the tower.
And we both cancelled our subscriptions.
Which was a big deal for him since he had been playing since the beginning.
I had only been playing for like that year.
yeah I feel that, sorry
This ^^
WoW is pretty unique in how they do it, though. They keep changing the end game to give players a new end game grind to work on.
I don't expect most games, especially EA games to do that.
We simply haven't seen the true end game yet, is all.
And I doubt they'll be making current top tier gear useless with future updates. It'll just be stronger mobs, new areas, and even stronger gear.
I hope.
when it was the best mmo out (out of like 3-4 mmos) it was amazing, I played from I think 06 to 10 at the height of its population, great memories
A few years of my youth was spent in Runescape.
A few more years in a little homebrew "graphical MUD" called Wyvern developed by like one dude who was doing it in his spare time at Google or something.
That guy was a bit wild, though. He had this real obsession with the leaderboards.
And that drove a lot of his game design decisions. You could get banned for trying to give players items or money.
And by far the biggest rule was that you were never allowed to mention anything about quests. Any information on how to complete them would result in an immediate non-appealable ban.
you could get banned for something that is part of the game?
Dropped items would retain ownership of the original person for a set time and then they would just disappear.
There was an auction system where you could sell stuff, but then they put limits in place on that to define min/max prices.
He had a real hard-on for tightly controlling the games economy, monetarily and information economy.
All to protect the sanctity of the "leaderboards."
Even if you had multiple characters, there was no way for you to transfer items from a high level character to your new low level character.
Because that would be "unfair."
He was a bit of a nut, and he collected a team of GMs that were also a bit nutty.
Anyone here mind allowing me to use their smelter to make tin blocks?
lol wow
have you tried a resource server?
or are you against that?
I’m kinda new to all this so what’s a resource server?
some people host public servers stocked with all the materials, and they reset
the price you pay is your self respect though 🫣
I started playing on my buddies server and he isn’t home or online right now so I don’t have access to our smelter and stuff but I wanted to keep playing.
lol I have all the resources just need a place to use them
Could start your own private world and try to speedrun your way to a smelter.
You can use your existing character along with any gear you already had. If you already have some decent gear and skills, you should be able to blast through early game in a new save.
here i'll host mine
Kinda like how Valheim separates the world save from the character save.
wjy is there no level or otherwise retriction on gear?
seems silly, I would put attribute requirements on gear, since that is progression gated
Would suck if I risked it all in an area I'm not supposed to be in and got some gear I couldn't use because my level was too low.
I also kind of like the freedom to just grab a staff sometimes even without any points in any of the blue trees.
Especially if some neat spells get added later. Spend all your mana for one or two AoE slows or something, then go HAM with the whack stick.
i mean it can make an area "too easy" getting high level gear early.
not that i mind. im just curious why theres No restrictions.
I think it mostly makes exploration feel better. Your progression is partially gated by your ability to access areas and craft things. So gating things further behind gear restrictions might not feel as necessary.
Yeah I think a large part of the issue is that people have a lot of preconcieved notions about what "levels" should be from other RPGs and stuff, and Enshrouded's system doesn't honestly have nearly that level of importance, but the game isn't great at the moment at explaining that to the player. It's an issue that's on the team's radar for sure.
I've definitely seen some players say things like "I won't play again until they increase the level cap", which shows, to me at least, that people are definitely overestimating how important they are. Cause realistically all it does for the most part is give you a few skillpoints lol
I know I'd personally like to see more emphasis shifted towards crafting your gear, which would also smooth out the progression feeling a bit I think.
Then you could go to a high level area and get loot the chests, but if the items they unlock recipes for also require high level crafted/gathered materials, you'd have to go through all the quests to unlock those to be able to actually make that high level weapon/armor piece or whatever.
no hp boost or magic boost right? just a skill point?
Some sort of mechanism to use resources (either existing or new) to increase the rarity of a weapon to extend its relevance a bit longer or reduce the RNG chest grind would be nice, although having more chests give recipes for weapons instead of weapons themselves could also help with that. Perhaps the same weapons could be crafted with different recipes to be at higher or lower levels (Like early areas allow you to craft a weapon at level 5 or something, but then new resources let you craft a higher level and/or rarity version of that weapon if you found the recipe previously), but some weapons could still be found from killing certain enemies and bosses, and some quest-specific weapons would still exist as lootables, but also allow you to get a recipe to make better versions later on with better resources would be really cool.
Yeah, I like the idea of mixing the finding of gear with finding recipes and stuff. Having it all be random gear just feels too random, but having it all be crafted takes away a bit of the joy of exploration. Likening it to Valheim, you never really find anything that's out in the world of value beyond resources, but that makes sense because of the procedural generation. With Enshrouded, you have the bespoke world so finding specific gear/recipes/loot in specific locations makes sense.
well 2
but yea
also I dont like the random chests across the map that are easily farmable
Yeah, with the current system they kind of have to be or you'd likely never find the things that you want, but also that just kind of... feels bad. It would probably feel a bit better if they gave you some amount of resources that could contribute to a recipe or something
People may get mad about this but I think the save spamming to farm chests is a huge issue
I dunno, I feel like the main reason that it's really a thing is because people are stuck in this midpoint where the game isn't "over" and the only thing they have to do is farm those chests.
There's probably some value in balancing how easy it is to access those chests every time you reload the map, but ultimately we'll have to see how it feels when we have the whole game.
My issue is actually that you get way too much XP doing things sometimes that won't award gear right now. Like Quests or mining actually. I think the solution would be to smoothen that out with at least some fixdrops over the course of the game with quests. You want to have some ranger based gear? Do something the huntress wants. Want some shiny plate armor? Go with the Blacksmith ones and so on.
Also, sometimes, the Gear tiers are an uneven spread as of yet, because you outlevel them too fast yet.
We have 13, 18, 22, 25 if I remember right and the game does either:
- push you loot from a spec you won't use yet frequently, for example finding mage gear as warrior
- push you only weapons in grey/green/blue quality over anything gear related
But hey... For me there's even an issue with the distribution of stats on said gear, because finding a head is waaay more important at times than shoes or trousers yet.
See I like the idea of crafting it as well. I find it far more rewarding
well can levels be removed? We'd have to, what, seed 25 skill points in the game right? What else?
I agree
I mean ofcourse there will be legendary gear to find and all that we cant be expected to craft like wythical gear or anything
But you could get a legendary ingredient that allows you to craft a legendary weapon of whatever type or something. There are lots of ways they could approach a more crafting-focused system
The game easily creates situations for now where you have either:
- Found only gear unusable for your spec / weapons that don't fit nor have the stats to worth consider (And thus... in 9 out of 10 chests tbh)
- Where you find your gear but only pieces (for example, only chest and trousers which makes u survive way better but deal almost zero damage)
- Crafting cannot follow if you gain XP through mining/questing in the open world without having unlocked the crafting station needed yet (and in Nomad Highlands you can easily slow-prog yourself with that following one trail)
I'd have a handful solutions, but not every one would appreciate them.
The most easy one would've be to tie Levels to the flame strenght at some point, making you once again able to gain XP.
So it'd be level 1 = 1/4 (Starting), 2 = 4/8 (Thunderhead), 3 = 8/15 (Matron head), 4 = 15/20 (Wispwyvern Head), 5 = 20/23 (Monstrosity Head), 6 = 23/25
And also do that with Gear, tie it to flame strength.
thats interesting, I've seen some games make experience more realistic where it has diminishing returns per activity or enemy, like BDO or elder scrolls for example.
The problem is more, that the biomes don't evenly progress out - while I say yes, the Nomad Highlands are a relatively short biome, we got a big chunk of quests there that make you travel around it for alot.
I think on the opposite, Revelwood is dragging on for very long (don't get me wrong, I speak on behalf of leveling - the same goes btw. for the high/low meadows)
Also, to have a significant craft you need almost all crafting stations unlocked later on, because they even built upon each other up.
I think Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes would profit from more "time to pace them" in terms of levels.
I don't think most people would disagree since it's kinda cheesy and unfun. Don't know if outright removing that would be the best move just yet, but there are other ways to mitigate the somewhat need for people to do that in the game's current state by having more unlockable recipes for gear and weapons and such that they could instead work towards crafting rather than grinding chests for.
I see the issue with chest spamming in the fact that they happily lie around open world, while some dungeons don't even award an ornate
I mean, cannot chest farm efficiently if you cannot put a altar down next to a chest
i mean. thry alresdy nerfed xp gain once. no need to do it again.
I've got bad news for you according to what CUB said the other day. 😅
also ya. most dungeons have very little in the wsy of rewards.
nooooooo not again!
I mined clay and got +7 levels from that in very short time
And I just wanted to build one roof
Maybe loot distribution can be reworked? Maybe chests that are more out in the open can give more in the way of raw or processed resources, while chests at points of interest can give more gear and consumables, with a handful of exceptions to help keep exploration interesting.
Depends on your definition of 'efficient'.
I've dropped a high base near kindlewastes and from there can easily grind 5 chests just by flying. This is actually faster for me than quitting and reloading 5 times, because my laptop ain't cutting edge any more.
I think it's a bit more of an open question of "Should there be chest-farming in a single-player game at all?" and also whether there are other, better options for seeking gear such as repeatable/endgame quests from NPCs, dungeon rewards, crafted items etc. All of which would be a better move than what amounts to lootboxes imo
I don't think chest farming is a huge issue if it's handled a little bit differently, but that would also require other underlying issues with how gear is acquired to be hammered out first. Ideally, the chests would have a replenishment timer or something so that you could still get value from exploring already visited areas, but it also prevents players from doing boring methods of getting resources like chest farming, or at least mitigates it to a high degree
I think some should be locked until nearby conditions are met, like shroud roots
My way (at least) would it be to put nothing more than ornates only into dungeon / raid zones.
Golden chests maybe at the end of wells or "smaller" dungeons
and open world max. silver chests
keep the loot tables?
I just now figured out who you mean by cub......I feel dumb
Would swap gear to find it more frequently by silver chests, weapons more frequently by bosses to the "epic" degree.
Eh, HH are a pain already. Like, really painful. I had to go through each twice to get the blocks/recipes because I missed them the first time round, and I have no desire to go through them ever again.
If I had to grind them for every single piece of gear to get decent equipment, I'd probably just uninstall
Sadly it's still a basic pillar: The more dangerous the content you do is, the better the reward should be.
I also think not everyone needs a legendary weapon from the get-go
But gear being important I'd sway it out to the silver chests to drop more frequently
At least more frequently as it does now... and weapons up to epic tied to boss battles
Hollowed Halls, as amazing as they are to explore, can be a bit of a slog, yeah. The loot they have can often feel unrewarding or lose relevance quickly because of how difficult they can be to get through as well. Especially when playing solo. It would be great if there was a fast travel point either in the middle or at the end of them that would become available after beating them so you could explore it more leisurely afterward or farm specific materials from them easier.
I think most of the slog in HH comes from enemies being 2-3x times tankier than what you encounter open world
While I can almost destroy in my dagger build any mob on my level within 5 stabs, everything in Hollow Halls takes 2-3 times more
I'd rephrase slightly - instead of "dangerous" I'd say "difficult" or "taxing" instead.
HH are difficult because they require 20-60 minutes of uninterrupted time, there's billions of enemies, and there's a lot of gliding/jumping puzzles.
There's nothing to say that 'difficult' couldn't also mean:
- Open world bosses on respawn times
- Crafted legendaries with very high mat requirements
- Quests that take you from zone to zone with multiple steps
- Fragments dropped at random from mobs in certain places which can be combined into ingredients or whole items
etc
"Go kill 5 Lvl 25 Scavenger Matrons" would be an example, with quest progress resetting if you log out
Sounds like a bounty system
"Do / repeat X for Reward X"
Sure, it's one option
I'm a big believer in single-player sandbox games of letting people play how they want to play
So if the goal is "Get legendary weapon" there should be a few ways to do that
at least imo
How do people usually go about farming chests? Find a gold chest that's easily accessible in some area, place an altar with the chest just out of the altar build range, and then log in/out a bunch?
That's why I was thinking a fast travel point or an actual unlockable checkpoint of some sort (like another teleportation plate you unlock or something) either at the midpoint or before the end of them would help make them feel a bit better. That way if you had or wanted to do something else while in the middle of one, you would be able to.
I imagine you'd probably want one gold chest per map biome. And maybe one silver chest?
I'm a strong believer in a progression courve that makes sense.
For example, one bearing with dungeons/raids should get better loot instead of someone beating just up a green cleaver guy.
Ye
I've never seen anything decent on a green cleaver guy anyway.
There still needs to be an incentive to do the "harder content".
if everyone gets the same, we have the situation we got now
The weapon they drop is pretty solid if you happen to be at an appropriate level for it, although I think the rarity is generally pretty low
A bounty system with named enemies would be really cool
Hollow Halls being a cool dungeon, but nobody wants to run it more than once
Not sure if I've ever seen them drop a weapon. Maybe some crappy curved sword or something.
I suffer for my bone arrows
Never anything above a common rarity, though.
I've only done two hollow halls. The first one traumatized me.
I run them all the time.......I have run each about 7 or 8 times
This is also why I was thinking a station that lets us boost the rarity of a weapon would be neat. Reduces the effects of RNG on getting good gear while also not requiring them to add a ton of weapon crafting recipes, which would still be ideal, but is a ton of work. Might add value to crafted weapons too if you could boost them up to legendary rarity and fully enhance them
I haven't found a good setup I like for running them.
Like aside from enhancing, it could be weapon rarifying or awakening
I get swarmed by hordes and can't keep up enough attacks to keep the health leech sustaining me, so I keep having to kite and use potions.
Takes forever to get through each section.
I had one. It was called "mage" until nerf.
If there were some sort of a poise system where your own attacks couldn't be interrupted when you're, say, swinging a big ass 2h hammer...
Like was discussed the other day.
That many mobs in a horde interrupt attacks too much for my current setup to be able to solo.
So it's just constant kiting.
And using summon barrels when it gets to be too much.
My solution is some kind of 2-handed mace, and spamming jump attacks after eliminating all the mages. Explosive arrows kinda work, but they're resistant to fire, so they're kinda oof. After getting bone arrows, though, using a bow against them becomes a lot more viable, but is still really tricky
Can't even really parry and make use of anything like that since you'll just get swarmed and interrupted when trying to execute a merciless attack anyway.
So I can't even get the health orbs.
Yeah
You kinda have to hit and run at least to some extent unless you've got mad lifesteal and health regen
They're just bones, damn it. You'd think a big hammer would smash 'em up good.
But they never get stunned.
I've been able to stun the spitting flowers and prevent them from attacking, but never can stun skeletons.
The "you cannot parry them" et cetera is the biggest problem here.
Because that excludes entire builds built around exactly that.
Like, I can parry one at a time, sometimes.
But when there are 10 around me, parrying one doesn't mean anything.
I also tried the "shockwave on parry" skill, but that just made it much much harder to execute a merciless follow up with 2h hammer.
The most I've been able to deal with while parrying at once was 3, and that wasn't aiming for merciless strikes, so I would just use it as an opening to keep bashing them. Otherwise, I need to reposition or use jump attacks
A system for:
- Raising rarity
- Raising level
- Converting from one type/set to another
Would certainly help
If you ask me, fighting needs a rework anyway...
Hollow Halls give a diablo-like experience with hundreds of enemies swarming at you - even already at Hollow Hall 1, where you don't even have the means to fight them properly by the time.
Whereas open world ist entirely balanced around you vs. 1 most of the time
I got really excited when I found my first legendary at like, level 3, before realising there was no way for me to use it beyond ~level 6 when its stats got outperformed by rares
They really wanted to design it around group fights, I guess.
Funnily enough the trait soaking threat from enemies just don't works there.
The main thing I liked about that first legendary sword was the light it gave off. Meant I didn't need to throw torches when fighting in the dark.
Yeah, it's 100% meant to be tackled with a group. It can be done solo, but the kinda mid effectiveness against them with most AoE stuff makes it a huge issue, especially since most AoE stuff isn't very effective against them because of damage types
The thing I feel is more funny is them completly ignoring summoned pets by barrels - and just chasing you at all
The skulls get to shoot them in the back over and over.
which makes it the sole way to deal with them even if you're not even a class that handles with mana
If level raising was a thing, I think it would have to be restricted to be within 3-5 levels of the base gear. Otherwise, getting new gear wouldn't be anywhere near as exciting unless they just made level raising exorbitantly expensive, which would probably just lead to no one using that system until endgame.
That's why I think a rarity-raising system would be better since it would still require a lot of resources without necessarily being too broken. Like, after using whatever resources to raise the rarity, you'd still need the spare runes to actually enhance it, and higher level weapons will still be better, but you wouldn't have to rely on getting a rare or epic tier weapon to really be worth using since you could boost its rarity yourself.
I was thinking that using boss heads might be a good idea for rarity boosting since it's kinda like having to infuse boss souls or power into the weapon after conquering them to make it stronger without needing a whole new system to be implemented for that, but that could cause its own issues depending on which boss head is needed since some of them can be pretty scarce.
yay
The Wispwyvern for example. Even tho you can place an altar somewhere in the mountains, yet I have the feeling that there's not yet anything that justifies running him at least 8 times just for the trophies/heads to craft him in regular, bronze, iron. 😅
at least until very late
I finally found some armor pieces that look nice when slapped togther as cosmetics.
Think I need to start chest farming for more.
If I feel cute later, I might post a picture.
Where can I make suggestions for the game? Ranged classes feel a little clunky and I’ve got some ideas

No please, because all of us doesnt like 'farming chests' and log in put meta boredom.
For us its alot more to explore to find new chests/treasures/spots rather then play a slots-spinwheel loop imo.
Yeah, but I like to minmax sometimes. And sometimes I just want to complete an armor set.
Pretty easy tho, put an altar. Take the chest, log out, log in, again and again
I guess I was just asking if that's how it's done.
And I'm assuming there's different loot per biome, at least that's what I've observed with the general levels and such.
From what I've seen you can find same stuffs in all areas. But in fact their are somes that seems to be specific depending on the biome
Seems like the levels of loot in chests also generally matches the levels of the mobs in the area.
Yep totally
||In the last area with the legendary weapon and the fact that you can upgrade them to the blacksmith you can have lvl 30 weapons||
||But for the armor set I think it's only 25 max||
||Well, no, I' sure. I have the 3 last sets||
||And indeed they are 25||
Better in spoiler mod maybe
I hope they raise the level cap next update to like 50!
that update might to have to be a bit bigger
since we are talking about aditional 25 levels 😄
Hello all! I have a suggestion for something I think would be a quality of life upgrade everyone would love. A system of quick-stack to all nearby chests without needing to open them of all your bag, like in Terraria. Please add this
I think it should be raised for current content, I was 25 before I went to kindlewastes on my first playthrough
Greetings, fellow Shroud warriors.
Does anyone know what the plans are for adding more levels beyond 25?
They exist. Thats about it so far lol
Anyplace i can post bugs?
In-game
I saw the roadmap, but was hoping for more details
So were we all but beyond the fact that cap will raise we dont know
Aight. Fanks
Level cap is planned to be increased. But it’ll have to be meaningful. And most likely with a new large biome.
Well thats news alright. Thanks!!!
Any specific timeline for new biome? Just wanting to know how long I'll have to pause playing the game since anything I do now that I'm 25 is not very constructive
We already have more skillpoints then we need too, so there has to be a point to it both area and skillboard wise
Thax, i submitted it
If one can have half or more of all skills there is no choices left to be made ^^
Levels aren’t very meaningful. You get more skill points from elixir wells and shroud roots. Gear gives you more power than a number next to your name.
By any chance, will their be circles added for build mode?
You also gain experience incredibly quick from just about every activity. So completing quests and playing the game after reaching level 25 shouldn’t make you hold back.
What's the point of earning XP beyond 25? Seems a bit moot to play the game beyond the narrative.
Play the game enjoy it.
The game is early access.
Levels arent important, world content is. Exploration is the game ^^
Most people will be doing fresh playthroughs post release anyways
Levels allow you to gain attribute points, which allow you to be stronger, which allow you to deal with tougher enemies/newer areas... or at least that's the premise I understood from the game. If I can't get stronger, how would I deal with tougher enemies down the road?
Thats what im saying there is too few things to get with the points atm
Just for clarity, I'm not being difficult. Just wanting to understand the grand vision of the roadmap
The 'skillboard' needs to be expanded for there to be a point to have more skillpoints,
We get alot already with all the roots, nothing left to 'skill' if suddenly more levels,
So more content needs to come first
I agree with you. Perhaps there should be depth to each skill point, so that you can strengthen your own build line. Each skill would be upgradeable X amount of times beyond the initial unlocking
sup peeps
Hello ^^
how we doing
As someone who tries to skill into the art of stabby, I want a word with u.
you are so wrong
sir, you are so right.
I cant win with this thing.
Optomising my settings to get steady frames is miserable.
I just tell by what I got to read almost daily here & what my group of friends says.
People cannot be bothered now to run the dungeon more than once.
And that's only for the recipes and blocks maybe.
After that? Maybe 1-2 people who want the bone chain spell and arrows.
I think a good portion of the weapons and perks need to be completely reworked.
Loot needs to be more plentiful and have smaller chests give resources like potions or food instead of taking up a loot chance for a weapon.
Don't do chests that already? I mean the completly normal ones
I think we get enough potions and such anyway, theres almost never a need to craft potions at the alchemist for me at least
I think there should be just a rare material that you find in these chests or such
No
I would say one item plus consumables, the quality of the latter needs to scale with chest rarity, so we can at least get scrolls/elixirs
minidump is still not fixed?
Probably multiple causes
There is no need to repeat things over and over anyways unless you really are trying to pretend its a grindy mmo.
Exactly what I said. There is nothing to get except a hollow weapon with legendary quality
Your implication is that it should be different. It shouldnt.
I've had to revisit them for bones and ectoplasm, but that's it so far. Haven't done the kindlewastes one yet
It should give an incentive to go back for fun and replayability if you want to.
Right now, it forces the people who want bone channel to go there, the same goes for bone arrows or the cyclops trophy.
And no, everyone is allowed to do what he wants.
But right now your implication is, that there should be no rewards or incentive to go there, which is also wrong in a way. There needs to be a middle ground.
🙃
I have to admit, I neither like it to feel "forced" to do the Hollow Halls more often than I need to. But right now, with weapon RNG, I'd need to run multiple times to get a weapon that would be effective for the Hollow or even Legendary. I found more than once just a grey staff in the end chest which was quite a bummer.
Would like Weapon Vanity btw. also
(If its the same type of weapon)
It. Is. Not. An mmo. Or valheim.
There is no need to have mmo-rerun grind content.
I'm actually glad that the weapons/spells are contained to it, so that I can ignore it and lose nothing.
How do you get the idea I want that?
If they want it like that how you envision it, let every weapon drop in legendary quality at the end of the Hollow Halls.
Would be fine with that also.
meh, I disagree. its an RPG regardless. just getting everything instantly is also goofy and reduces playtime. If you just wanna play building simulator nobody stops you - just feel like for the ppl who dont wanna do that and are in for the grind these discussions are often a bit annoying.
I genuinely wonder why do ppl even care about the armor/weapon if they aint here for the MMO/RPG aspect of the game?
That is not at all the same.
I dont build.
I explore the whole world and map.
I dont like redoing the same content 20 times to gambleroll drops
- that is a live service mmo mindset - not RPG.
I do actually enjoy rpg and exploration, meta grinding the same content is not what that is about tho, at all. Huge diff.
So, i genuinely wonder why mmo people need to make every game a drop-gamble metagame live service, when games are not meant to be. Play an mmo if you want that live service repeats.
Its about NOT redoing the same thing 30 times, quite the opposite to those that want 'max best gear out of chest 12 of 17361
Do more varied fun things, explore, not repeat content. That is more rpg and adventure then what your positing ^^
(Noone has even mentioned 'getting errything at once' , but actually exploring for it not run a tunnel and chest for it 30 times, thats quite the opposite. Smh)
Has anyone else spun in circles well in the mages cape? If not it's fun I suggest trying it (^▽^)
I regulary do the double jump and/or glide. So my cape gets stuck on me tummy.
I want shield vanity.
I was stoked when I found a really nice shield and immediately bummed when it was way worse than the current shield I had.
Some of the best looking shields are like... level 8.
Sorry if this has already been said .... But it a new armour set on the postcard ?
Not every game is made for everyone so you have to decide whether you want to play or not
😁
Yeah? That is why i AM playing and loving enshrouded? 🤔
I think you missed the part where i am arguing with an idea of what to CHANGE enshrouded into
Haha me as well I love the building and can't wait for settings haha
I got it because it isnt an mmo
Sorry if I misinterpreted your messages I came in late lol
It isnt a live service mmo so i do play it, i think you are confusing this?
Damn work
Yeah ^^
good lord I feel like I missed a battle after reading all that
Haha no battle just me coming in at a random time with no read back
one thing I have learned in this group always read back lol
I need to get back to building my prison!
Hey devs can I get more prisoners......I mean NPC I need them for......reasons.......
I'm building an underground dwarven city I carved out 17 buildings and maxed out area with gardens and fountains, etc on top
You posted pics a while back right ?
Not on bases just a few here and there in creative
Gf and I are also always working on our main village
Yeah thought so looks amazing so far thought I recognized you name. I am making my base inside a blackmire tree
Ooo that's awesome, and thank you. I have spent over 10k hrs building in a few games lol
Have you posted?
yep its over in creative....havnt learned how to link in discord lol
ok I figured it out
Ooo that looks great
Thankyou!
Yes we do. my project in surats rest will yake 4
that tree took 2 one at the bottom max and one max at the top. theoretically anything inside your base radius is safe
Yes I know that, and that's crazy did you reach the height limit on the tree with 2?
The area I chose has a mine attached that's why we chose it near the sun temple and has scavenger camps and towers on top
yep every branch of the tree right to the top is buildable I have a platform at the very top of the tree. but if you mean the height limit of the game nope havnt hit it yet
Haha nope meant the tree, that is awesome can't wait to see as you build
They just kicked me off my server, what happened?
how do you know the server didnt close?

Can do that.
You do buy the plane?
Cuz I already bought 2
I think I’ve bought a total of 58 copies of the game
That's why you're mod

Push it to 100 and you become CM
That's a joke! Don't fall for it
I bought it for me, my friend group and for giveaways

Not enough
Don't forget to sell it as local retailer but more expensive.
Obviously after purchasing a game 50 times
I think that’s illegal van
Also: why giveaways Primoris?
Without license it is
Frog can I resell enshrouded at a marked up price?
He could buy the license
If I get no response in 30 seconds that means yes
you might just get it written backwards back
You can sell the new update to me, you receive my yugioh card collection as well.
Oh didn’t notice my comment. I win.
With the code for the next update?

You can but that would be illegal
Now it comes.
The code is just randomly put together
