This is kind of the challenge of the RNG-based loot system. The more variety your loot has, the less likely you are to get anything you actually want.

I'm in a melee character since launch, an yep, even lvl 25 and with a lot of loot, this is not the best point of the game.

Not very interesting loots, and the fight system is bad....

I'm in love with this game, like he is in my top 5 even not finished, but the fight system is the main dark dot

The loot throws me off, I go to a level 7 territory and find a common weapon that does like 10 dmg then I’m in the level 2 area and randomly find a high level weapon, the risk vs reward is off, feels not rewarding when I’m risking my life in a level area

The system is a bit so-so, for instance i dont play 'mmo farming' and save reload hit the same chest 200 times, it doesnt feel explorative.

Yeah, the feeling of exploration is also hurt by the random loot. Like, why explore more POIs if I know all I'm going to get is another chance at a random weapon? If I'm looking for a specific weapon, that doesn't help, and if I've got a weapon I like, I have zero incentive.

I'd love to see chests giving more random rare or crafted materials (like metal bars, food items, other processed goods) and then also upgrade materials to upgrade weapons to higher rarities. Then focus the weapon progression on actually building new weapons.

Actually the reason we did the form was specifically for that reason, it's easy for feedback in chats (like this one) to go the way of whatever the "popular" opinion is, or whichever opinion is first. From my understanding, for gear: Still the one you find exploring out in the 25-30 kindlewastes area is the best one, Root staff as a weapon (despite being bugged) gives overall the best DPS / Mana back and you can take 2 rings of the ancients

If your staff has mana leech, you can almost spam spells.
If you do wants, thats only my second playstyle / close combat playstyle (which happens not too often).

The bug from the root staff is btw. that the number is way higher than other staffs

Supported mods, no. But people have made mods on nexus anyhow. I wouldn't personally suggest using them, though, due to not being supported.

I have yet to have any desires for QOL mods in the game - I really think it's very well designed. The only mods I wish for are those building mods you always find that add more types of materials to build with - I always love those - people get so creative. 🙂

That is the risk of an EA where savefile structure can need to change between versions and modding not having an actual API. Can leave a savefile not working if unlucky as game parses intended data

Mods are dangerous enough on games that support them. I can't count the amount of times I had to rollback an Ark server because the mods killed the save.

Ark is UE (like conan exiles) so that is more about overuse of models and such

Its generally quite safe in conan (similar system) if having a good check on what mods are being loaded into game.

Ark as its core has always been unstable tho, its a poorly managed game that way sadly.

Well .. i tryed starting over and just idea of it made me quit game do to same quests even the main char is sitting and waiting for more!
I'm aware game is still " new and still in EA" and i'm not rushing it and no need to be rushed so far from all this new games this one is my favorite but what i'm saying.. i'm having only one big base and i'm not in need to keep making 8x of them since i'm playing mostly alone so other altars for me are for easyer farming!

that's the thing to be honest

the game is not necessarily meant to be a game you play every single day for weeks on end

it's not trying to be Destiny or Overwatch or Helldivers or something with daily quests and the like

and I think it's okay to put down a game after a while and come back later to check what's new

also down the line we want to add a feature that lets you travel to other servers to check out what others have built more or less seamslessly

my hope is we can enable players to create adventures and dungeons and experiences for other players

because we already have an incredibly talented community, and I think they'd go crazy if they knew that others could play their stuff and do more than just visit

"AI" in games was a very loose term. There are very few games that implement actual functional styles of AI into their gameplay. Most of it is scripted that "if user does X then do Y". FEAR was one of the first games that could adapt to user play style.

It encountered data, yes, but generally not specifically the data you present it. It was trained to evaluate and respond in novel ways, mostly. Honestly, that's how the education system works in general for human: children are presented with specific examples of data and problems, taught how to deal with and solve them so they can understand how to solve similar problems later.

Yes you can remove an alter and replace it just DONT LOG OUT. And make sure you have enough shroud cores to upgrade the new alter to the same boundary area

Hey so I’m pretty low level, I made it to Kindlewastes region but cheesing it and getting up to high places and gliding, was trying to find a place to mine iron and heard it was the best

Unfortunately the cave that has the iron is full of deadly shroud

What level does my flame have to be for me to be able to access it

For this game to be early access it is freaking polished. And there's so much content to come. It will set a precident for open world survival crafts to come.

Soulmask is pretty good..and the subgenre that soulmask, medieval legacy, and ASKA are getting into as village builders with NPCs is an amazing twist. But, outside of ASKA, none of them seem even close to progressed along in development.

Enshrouded blends incredible and diverse building with actual rpg styled elements so well.

I'd LOVE to see more village builder styled things like ASKA has, it would make enshrouded the ultimate complete survival rpg. Build your own town/cities. Settlement management for resources and crafting or building, dungeons, rpg styled character progression.

Even without a village builder simulation being added, the game is freaking incredible and doesn't feel early access at all.

Settlement management is definitely an interesting add to survival games, you they have to be really intentional about exactly how they add it to the game. I haven't played ASKA yet, but I know with Soulmask and Bellwright I was left feeling like they just kinda plopped the mechanics into a survival game without evolving the normal survival gameplay loops in a meaningful way. It felt like a lot of my actions were duplicated/replaced by the 'villagers' and ended up taking away from the enjoyment of the survival/craft loop. The best integration I've seen that I like is how Vampire Survivors does it with sending your thralls out on missions to supplement your normal gathering or gather things that you don't want to get from earlier zones.

I think it could be added to Enshrouded, but they'd have to be careful about how they do it so that it's both a meaningful addition and doesn't detract from the normal gameplay.

Just completed the 4th Hollowed Halls, that is the most fun I've had in the game so far.

The issue with soulmask is that it feels like a clunky, undeveloped version of ark with settlement features. It feels like it is in its infancy, with great potential but far from done. Now it's early access, but next to enshrouded it feels like an alpha vs a completely finished game.

Midevil legacy does a good job for settlement management but the rpg elements and combat dynamics are suffering. Enshrouded shines here, and with settlement development would stand above every other game in the genre imho
