Old is new, and new is old, and the hipsters liked it before it was cool.

tepid burrow

like powder shampoos

golden crystal

But you forget something important. Your diet and surroundings change your smell. The people at that time didn't eat things like we today, they where outside all of the day. In the citys the smell where bad, because of all the human waste on the streets, but in villages I doubt the smell was that awful ^^ The human itself would be fine with a bath in the see/river once every two weeks. ^^

pastel oyster
tepid burrow
#

so have people! sand baths and mud scrubs

#

wait swap that mud baths and sand scrubs

viral star
woeful light
#

yup, manure all day erry day

pastel oyster
#

just because of what I eat

viral star
#

I've done enough research personally, as sad as that sounds. About technology and how it developed, and human living conditions. How we build houses (which is why I summarized half timbered as a group, because it is). And I lived around Amish for 5 years, working with them every day. Even in todays world.... some things dont change.

any1 wanna start a new playthrough with me?

viral star

And id say all the trans fats of today and sugar are way worse than any fresh veggies back then. We smell worse now then ever. Probably why we need so much soap

#

Kira: please oh please dont bring religion in here

#

or sports, or politics

pastel oyster
#

not really talking religion, I am talking about how people misunderstand historic things, the nativity is just an example. I'm atheist, kiddo ๐Ÿ˜›

copper apex
#

And dont make any jokes about vegan - thats tasteless ๐Ÿ˜†

viral star
#

...

golden crystal
#

Of course the roamed, with someone overlooking the livestock. If a cow wanted to go through a fence, they just walked over it. The only thing the cows don't do this today is because of electricity and the calves get shocked as soon as they can walk. ^^

viral star
#

Just takes one spark Kira, to bring a half timbered barn down ๐Ÿ˜›

tepid burrow
viral star
#

and even if you had no fences, which is unlikely, they would stay by the water. Which YOU created.

golden crystal
viral star
#

errr

#

no

#

most the houses in europe are a few hundred years old

#

your thinking thousands of years perhaps

pastel oyster
brittle iron
#

Few thousands probably yeah

viral star
#

you think humanity came all this way in 200 years?

#

...

#

im ...

#

golden crystal
pastel oyster
#

Dude... where I live, 200 years ago it was mostly native tribes and adobe houses. so yeah.

tepid burrow
#

... my grams farm has a mudshed us grandkids summered in like camping..it was only a couple hundred years old

#

im in colorado btw

pastel oyster
viral star
#

dude America doesnt count

#

we didnt have anything a few hundred years ago

tepid burrow
#

ha

golden crystal
#

USA is just a European colonie... x)

pastel oyster
#

ah right, America doesn't count till the white people got here. Sounds about right ๐Ÿ˜›

viral star
#

oof

brittle iron
#

Well humanity is a pretty broad term deercat_derp In Europe they were already building Fachwerk houses in the 13th century. But there are also places today where people live in mudhuts, so...

golden crystal
viral star
#

Indians were mostly roaming tribes, if you really want to get into it, they used wood in the surroundings to support the buckskins they carried with them to set up camp wherever

#

wherver the food went

golden crystal
#

true dat.

viral star
#

Yes you can get into the very old structures built into the sandstone in some states, but that was... the exception, not the rule

tepid burrow
#

yeah CO has quite a few pueblos

pastel oyster
#

On the plains maybe. There were hundreds of different tribes here, some migratory, some not. And their cultures could not have been more different from each other. ๐Ÿ™‚

viral star
#

meh

#

more alike then I think you give credit

#

America is a country of extremes

#

weather changes drastically and so does the landscape

golden crystal
#

in my area there is a museum, Haithabu, it's an old viking village rebuild like the vikings lived. It is really intreresting: https://haithabu.de/en/homepage

viral star
#

you cant feed a city of people on food that doesnt exist

#

and agriculture is not practical year round

brittle iron
#

Haithabu is an interesting place

pastel oyster
tepid burrow
#

this is why i want to find a -live- city ingame. some hidden away toen thats thriving without knowledge of shroud

#

we the flamborn came from one way, how why are they another

viral star
#

If Native American Indians were content to live in one place it wouldve been farther south then most of their historical lands. Going all the way up into Canada. That is a hunting tribe, not agricultural, and why there is no permanent structures. And MOST tribes lived that way...

I grew up in Arizona so dont think me some corn crop plains hobunk

pastel oyster
viral star
#

No, it doesnt, because we designed it not to

#

but it did

#

all the way to Mexico

#

thats people, agriculture, industry

#

changed California into what it is

pastel oyster
#

... it really wasn't.

viral star
#

if you dont think irrigating millions of square miles with water didnt change the climate....

#

only thing it had for it was the cooling effect from the ocean coming in on the jet stream

#

all the water landed up north and east

#

where there were mountains to make the pressure rise

#

which btw the preciptation landed on the other side

pastel oyster
#

yeah - not going to discuss this anymore. lol. I don't know where you are getting your information, but SoCal was not and has never in recorded history been a complete desert. ๐Ÿคฃ

I grew up in norcal, I miss cardboard sliding in the summer

Theres the champions hill outside the world headquarters for little league baseball, they hand out cardboard for kids.

woeful light
golden crystal
tepid burrow
#

any reason to slide a hill, mud, sand, grass..we made our own slipnslides with rain tarps and plastic painter shetts

lethal rune
#

i saw a video that basically showed USA getting shafted for farm quality soil, and canada got the best parts

tepid burrow
#

i mean we had snow too but usually summer is was mandated get our butts outside

viral star
viral star
#

now i got a song stuck in my head

#

aint your scrub

golden crystal
viral star
#

California will break off and Arizona will be ocean front property

#

hey theres another song

golden crystal
#

But with so many people from america here, there is a question I wanted always ask, Is it true you guys spray green color on dried out grass?

viral star
#

yes

#

in the desert states, ive known it to happen. Especially golf courses

#

but at your house? no

#

noone can afford the money for the water anyways

golden crystal
#

I couldn't image someone would really do that. I thought it was all a troll or something. xD

lethal rune
#

like maybe it was this video, usa got shafted for good farmland and basically has a belt in the middle, but it's still nowhere near as good as the thin band of farm land in canada. https://youtu.be/H9oT-7kDBFM?t=955

viral star
pastel oyster
golden crystal
pastel oyster
#

But I don't know one person here that sprayed their grass green.

viral star
#

but again, mostly... people just landscape with volcanic stone

golden crystal
#

That's so horrible...

pastel oyster
viral star
lethal rune
#

you have lots of it though, not like you're lacking

#

its why half your states are empty

viral star
#

half our states are empty because they are mountainous, desert, or swamp

golden crystal
lethal rune
#

that's part of it too

viral star
#

Anyone committed to making great farm land is capable of it

lethal rune
#

or they are empty historically

viral star
#

and I am not saying we have the best soil... its been farmed like hell for a long time

woeful light
#

we provide food relief for so many countries, AND throw food out

lethal rune
#

i recently saw a video about how USA drops a few million worms over panama

#

anyone interested?

#

lol

viral star
#

But... like here in Illinois for instance, its on a ancient bed of ocean, so lots of seashells and poop. It does pretty well. I have been to almost every state, hell ive been in Canada too (not every state) and the dirt here, is almost black.

lethal rune
#

also just panama and usa history is super interesting in general

#

since it's how USA became king in trade with the panama canal etc.

tepid burrow

most homes around here do xeriscaping

i feel like the whole world except for dictatorships are kinda really diverse places now

tepid burrow

viral star

best to do it with family, in a RV, for a month, and lots of doughnuts to pay off the cops that pull you over for having no clue

lethal rune
#

it's not really a staple tied to one country anymore

#

australia, canada, most of europe, all kinda really diverse lol

pastel oyster
viral star

Couldnt do that in Arizona, goat heads would get you every time

tepid burrow

im nearly always barefoot myself

pastel oyster

it takes about 26 hours to drive from the southern most part of the west coast to the northern - a lot more on the east coast... and about 3-4 days (I think) to drive from east to west coast.

viral star
#

...... wth are you talking about

#

oh

#

you said just the west coast

I was gonna throw a fit just then

pastel oyster

eh - says it's about a 34 hour drive, I suppose that's possible, but it's making my hips hurt just thinking about it. xD

#

(louisville to seattle)

viral star
#

but reality sets in right. Tornado turns you down. Highway under construction. Tollway you didnt expect and you forgot to just let them send the dealership the ticket.

#

random idiots driving irradically

#

all these things make you want to stop and find a bar

#

which we do have plenty of

golden crystal
lethal rune
#

there's only a few reasons to drive 36 hours, family, work (trucker), see a girl you met online, abortion, you're kinda crazy, can't afford a plane ticket... tourism? i feel like tourism is not a common one among americans. so many just live in a little 10 mile radius all their lives. tourism more likely for me, as a canadian we drove across USA once when i was a kid.

golden crystal
#

But not gonna lie, we have the same people here in EU ๐Ÿ˜„

lethal rune
#

never drove across my own country

#

lol

viral star
#

yeah, i wanted to get to where I was going

lethal rune
#

driving cross country used to be more of a thing up to the 90s maybe

#

i feel like it might've dropped off since planes, i dunno

viral star
#

i grew up driving everywhere

lethal rune
#

maybe state to state flights got cheaper

viral star
#

mom did it, step dad did it

#

i ended up doing it

#

this country is just... fun

golden crystal
#

meanwhile most germany walk from village to village. XD

viral star
#

lol

lethal rune
#

japan does trains

#

actually usa used to be big on trains too

viral star
#

everyone yells at us for using so much gasoline... but we got to get to where we are going! its big

lethal rune
#

too bad the money became less for that

viral star
#

Amtrak is still a thing

tepid burrow
#

ccolorado, if not born here you were a tourist at some point

viral star

mostly eastern US

golden crystal
#

When I was 16 I walked 15km drunk home. (legal are to drin beer in germany!)

viral star
#

I know Colorado very well too. Lived in Durango for a bit. Brother grew up there. Been to Colo Springs many a time.

golden crystal
viral star
#

hah

#

What are you at per gallon

#

i got google so you can spit out Marks

golden crystal
#

we pay per liter

#

~ 1.90โ‚ฌ per liter

viral star
#

yeah your cheaper

lethal rune
#

at euros?

viral star
#

in anything

lethal rune
#

what is gas in states?

viral star
#

puts you at 3.8E per gallon

golden crystal
#

1 gallon is 3,7 liters ^^

viral star
#

well i did a quick google search for average in US

lethal rune
#

we're at 160.9 cent(s)/litre

#

canadian currency

viral star
#

I guess its not far off

#

did i do that math wrong on litres?

#

i did, i typed in 1.9 into litres like an idiot and got .5 gallons

#

so yeah you are definately more expensive

lethal rune
#

we're paying 1.60 which is 1.09 euros

#

so he's paying almost double in europe

viral star
#

so thats 4.1202 a gallon

golden crystal
#

its like 7,20$ per gallon in germany. and we only got the gasoline thats the worst in america. ^^

viral star
#

and we were higher than that not too long ago but it came down, average now is about 3.45 nationally

tepid burrow
#

but it averages out in use right? we constatly fill up most folks weekly, there my friend said it is maybe twice a month

lethal rune
#

and 1.60 cnd is 1.16 US

#

oh wait we're paying more obviously

viral star
#

i did 1.09 Euro calc

lethal rune
#

because the usa and euro currency is lower?

woeful light

liters to gallons

usa and germany both use gallon?

golden crystal
viral star
#

yea

#

which is the oppositve of 0.93

#

lol

#

anyways

#

youll get more US currency for your Euro

#

The thing about the US average is it ranges like a 1.50 all over the US, mostly in the big cities

#

-for gas

golden crystal
#

yepp, that's why i wrote you, ca. 7.20$ per gallon in germany. ^^

viral star
#

guess its good you can walk from town to town

lethal rune
#

they need to get electric in europe

golden crystal
#

haha, at least from village to viallge. ๐Ÿ˜„

lethal rune

so it is cheapest in canada?

woeful light

now that I work from home, I fill up every 4 months ๐Ÿ˜† fell_justright

Canada is the best place to live, its the cheapest, the economy is doing great and its leadership is without fault, they dont even have any semi-drivers

#

And housing is stupid cheap... forgot that

golden crystal

I have colleagues driving with the bike ca. 20km (12,4274 freedom units) to work and back every day.

viral star
#

Freedom units

#

my brain just died

lethal rune

canada isn't the best, but it might be slightly advantageous to many US states, in certain respects anyway

#

some other US states less so

tepid burrow
subtle prawn
golden crystal
#

Well that's why one of my Aunts moved to canada in the mit 80th. ^^

viral star
#

Canada has one good thing going for it, Healthcare

lethal rune
#

we're having high cost of homes and rent here, high food prices (price gouging from the food companies)... our supply chain is weak and relies on a lot from USA... everything i want to get, they don't have in canada, but you find in USA.... so it can be frustrating.

#

and we have a monopolies on internet/phone

viral star
#

the rest of it is melting under duress. Being geographically what it is, the states with the population are overpopulated in the cities, and noone can afford the living in the cities. But there is nowhere to go. Its kinda tragic

tepid burrow
#

nope dont et me started there for americass healthcare, we need new topic..

golden crystal
viral star
#

be quiet Germany

subtle prawn
lethal rune
#

and lets be honest, the weather kinda sucks in canada

golden crystal
lethal rune
#

extreme cold in winter, extreme hot in summer... though the hot part is basically happening in more countries now

subtle prawn
viral star
#

well yeah, geographically, very mountainous and it gets darn cold

golden crystal
viral star

I love Canada, but I think it should just mate with US and Mexico into one big love bubble of ... let the people live wherever

lethal rune

oh and unlike some european countries, too much car emphasis here....

subtle prawn
tepid burrow

years and years ago the peak {pikes peak} had snow thick year round, now its a surprise if some is there in January

I actually give lots of props to Germany for how the economy there is growing. And Switzerland has some of the best living conditions on the planet according to several sources

subtle prawn
viral star
#

I would love to visit both places (i like mountains anyways, the Swiss Alps sound nice)

lethal rune
#

and the suburb aspect obviously exacerbating the housing crisis along with traffic jams, since not enough compact housing for middle class... it's probably the same everywhere to some degree, though i know some european countries have way better government housing

viral star
#

But I love my country too

vocal elm
#

Well, the German Healthcare system is not what it was. If you do not have a private insurance the wait can be insane and you have to pay so much extra anyway. It is good for basic stuff yes.

golden crystal

yeah ive been tip-toe-in all night

ICQ... AH OH! x)

vocal elm

ICQ is finally dead, RIP!

viral star

is it?

viral star

yeah... i loved ICQ

it was my #1 for years

golden crystal
viral star

hah

#

i do have miles of chatlogs

ICQ will stop working from June 26

tepid burrow

viral star

vocal elm
vocal elm
golden crystal
#

o7

viral star
#

well its based off of SMS and IRC messages

#

which anyone can send from anywhere

#

makes sense, just got to designate a different DNS

golden crystal
#

I see it like this, ICQ (with some others) is the grandmother of modern cmmunication like Whatsapp and co.

viral star
#

i guess, i dont use them

#

IRC is IRC, still Unix born

tepid burrow
#

that discord is the prevalent chatter now boggles me, i remember games sending you passwords for forums

viral star
#

everything else afterwards is just putting flavors and colors on it

#

i agree in a sense

#

Discord isnt what it was what it was when i got it and wanted it to be

#

now its trying to be the everything, and it just kinda urks me

#

Like I suddenly forgot Ventrillo, or Teamspeak

vocal elm
viral star
#

Well now you said it

#

next big thing will be some AI encrypted algorithmic ICQ

#

*idea

tepid burrow
#

oh my teamspeak! I was trying to recall it while talking to my son about everquest and such

viral star
#

well thats what ICQ and AIM got famous for right? the ability to "voice chat"

#

that was new stuff back in the day

#

AIM had its in with AOL which was everyone email and chatroom program

golden crystal
#

TeamSpeak is good, but Discord has more with the whole chat and much easier data exchange.

viral star
#

thats exactly it

#

Discord won because they dumped a ton of investment into server storage

#

so people could share, for free, whatever

#

whereas TS and Vent you had to have a host

#

set up a host, pay for it, or do it on you own system

tepid burrow
golden crystal
#

At the beginning Discord was horrible, really bad sound and everything but now it's so much better.

viral star
#

TS was great at that, you could organize groups, and set different speaking channels. So a commander could be in multiple channels at once

#

you still dont have that with Discord

golden crystal
viral star
#

its one place only at a time

#

...

#

nah

#

I used to be really uptight about what did what on my computer. I still am but, I dont worry about data theft. i dont ever give out anything anyone wants

#

Conspiracy theorists crack me up. they spend so much time worrying about wha the government is interested in, they completely miss the point they are nobody to them

golden crystal
viral star
#

Where people actually broke off into groups for strat

#

dont do that on WoW, Raid is linear

#

everyone is on the same fight

tepid burrow
#

everquest, any raid like oh a seven day plane of air camp

viral star
#

yeah idk Battlefield is where it shined for me, when you got 4 groups, 3 ground on objectives and one air group. and everyone cant be talking over each other that is nowhere near the other. TS shined

golden crystal
viral star
#

as long as they dont have my banking information who cares what they do

tepid burrow
#

thats why i a digging enshrouded atm, no raid type thing, we go we fight we fight more

viral star
#

they are not stealing my Identity if that where you going with it

tepid burrow
#

oh noes my keystrokes and game wishes are being noted

native pulsar
#

dose anyone know if you can craft a target dummy where you can play around with the builds and test things out? :S

golden crystal
tepid burrow
#

@native pulsar it doesnt take and show damage like you would want one too, i usually pick small mobs for build tests

golden crystal
viral star
#

Biggest reason I like Enshrouded... well theres two, they are active, they actually fix bugs quickly, and release patches relatively within a month. And the engine they are building this game on is solid, and its thiers, they have a good in house programming group capable of achieving it and it works better than most out there performance wise (yes a few glitches)

vocal elm
viral star
#

But I cant say that for 99% the rest of the world

golden crystal
tepid burrow
#

i dont worry cause -I- got nothing

vocal elm
#

We so far used Skype to talk while playing. Now with another group we use Discord and I have to say Discord works better for me.

viral star
#

Ah Skype, theres the last redheaded child in the room. forgot all about him.

tepid burrow
#

skype was good for overseas chatter, talking to Australia and the like

vocal elm
#

I do not work in IT, but I am suspicious by nature ... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

viral star
#

so was ICQ

#

well now everything is Microsoft Teams, and Google Groups

#

I spent ... 7 hours this week so far in meetings with ppl all over the country in one of those two

#

drives me crazy

#

Google Meet, sorry

#

whatever

#

_<

#

crazy

golden crystal
viral star
#

no not really

#

honestly

golden crystal
#

Oh thats a rare one!

viral star
#

this is big stuff were doing, were changing our database from inhouse, baked from 1982, still on a IBM OS/2 Mainframe here on site with tape backups and all that stuff you would expect, to a cloud, modern, GUI instead of Command Line, database and front end for both staff and students

#

and its....... huge

viral star
#

so its impossible to keep track of all that

#

you need these meetings so we all can mesh. somebody says something about something you are working on and you got to be there to go WHAT, WAIT

golden crystal
viral star
#

and if we dont, it just... messes the bed

#

its fun. buts its stressfull. time constraints, and delays on that

#

lots of programming

#

because nothing just.... transfers

#

and its millions of dollars

#

somebody messes up, we get pushed back a day, the whole thing gets pushed back a day, a week.... got to get it ready for students in Fall

#

just... stress

golden crystal
#

I have my final exam on monday... have to repeat the basics again to prepare... SQL, NoSQL, Syntax basics, and so on...

viral star
#

good skills

#

SQL is very valuable

golden crystal
#

Yea... but for me it's just repeating what I already know ^^

viral star
#

programming is programming, the logic is always the same, just the syntax changes

#

for the most part

golden crystal
viral star
#

OS/2 is COBOL and uses JCL so you have to understand dataset structures, allocated memory spacing. where its stored, ect... so its not just making a file, its how you make a file

#

but once you get that too your gold

#

programs are just programs, but once you get into mainframes its all about efficiency

#

they have a different way programs communicate with memory, and how they are stored, for speed

#

but in the end its still just a database so SQL is what we use for isntance to parse said data from the mainframe most of the time

#

a COBOL program can process say... 40 million records in a few minutes. whereas the SQL doing the same would take days. But the SQL being what it is can parse the info in seconds for a data set

Okay so I finally watched this a bit. It's clearly not a legitimate source of information, be that beside the fact, going on what he says, theyre talking about the soil quality existing in a existing forest that has never been touched by agriculture. Rip out all the trees, burn the stumps, rip out the roots, till the soil. Farm it for a few years... It's amazing what crops pull out of the soil. But not surprisingly its the same patch of ancient ocean that makes the US plains so fertile. What I'm trying to say is, you want to boast its better than US, but your barely virgin to being its caretaker as crop growing land. Unworthy comparison at the least.

I just learned, why prices end mostly on 99 cents. One of the reasons where: Pricing with amounts like 9.99โ‚ฌ forces cashiers to open the register to give change, ensuring that every sale is properly recorded. This was historically a method to ensure the honesty of cashiers and minimize the risk of theft. In modern times, this practice continues to support accurate accounting and monitoring of sales.

# viral star Okay so I finally watched this a bit. It's clearly not a legitimate source of in...

it was a video like this not sure if it's the video i saw. but the extremely fertile land in canada is not all covered by forest. it's being used. the thin strip in alberta/sk is all being used. we have similar land in toronto that's all being used for farming. "The Aspen Parkland is characterized by farmland, towns and large urban centres (Figure 3). It includes some of the most productive agricultural land in Canada and produces a wide variety of crops, including canola, alfalfa and wheat. Cultivation of land for pasture is also widespread."

basically there was a video about how montana has farmland but it wasn't as fertile as this thin strip in alberta right above it

lethal rune
#

"Great changes have taken place in the ecology of the aspen parkland since
it was invaded by man. Dominant animals and plants have been
greatly reduced in numbers and many communities have been destroyed. Their
places have been taken by the herds and crops of the settlers and their associ-
ated weeds and insect pests. Certain native species, however, have increased
in numbers at the expense of those less adaptable. Conditions continue to
change with the introduction of new farming methods. Oxen gave way to
horses, which were in turn replaced by tractors. The swather and combine
took the place of the binder and thresher; the plow was supplanted by the one-
way disk. New methods and implements are continually being introduced.
These man-made ecological changes are superimposed on changes that are
taking place continuously without the intervention of man."

I was trying to point out that poison is a general non-issue because of antisceptic and cleaned bandages now removing poison and people were blowing up at me over it on the forums. e.e Like, you have to fight ONE matron, that is level 9 I believe. And then you can get the antisceptic and bandages. And that's if you don't find any prior. I found a couple by the edge of the Revelwoods/Highlands border.

#

Who would have guessed not bringing antidotes to a fight with an enemy that primarily uses poison would end badly for you. I mean really. e.e

pliant quarry

Surely just a coincidence and has nothing to do with clown awards being a thing...

Steam should remove the reactions idea to posts, its usually 90% makes more flames

fossil parcel

And also, by the time you are even at the point where you would be fighting that matron you probably have a dozen or more skull vessels you could throw at the person to basically kill her without even risking poison to you...

Ok thanks

strong summit
#

You absolutely did

#

BUT ALSO
We are still investigating an issue with green luminescent blocks emitting too much light. Itโ€™s not you, itโ€™s them.

#

from the patch notes.

pliant quarry
#

Ah yeah I couldn't remember if we said that in the patch notes or not, I remember aknowledging it on reddit

strong summit
#

Yep.

pliant quarry
#

It's easy to miss things like that buried in patch notes though

fair sundial
#

You guys are great, havnt stopped playing since launch. Masterpiece of a builder

strong summit
#

So far my only real complaints is that my lore pages in Kindlewastes have disappeared from my journal, there seems to be a second page in Val's Valiant Tales? And they never fixed the 'Banishment'/Exiled lore not showing up in the hollow journal. xD Oh, and that there are like... five daggers that can't be legendary quality or something?

#

I'm a lore junkie/collector of stuff. So having it removed or not added properly bugs me >:

fossil parcel
#

No the Exiled was fixed afaik, I had it before the latest update. I had Kindlewastes lore disappear too, I'm sure the devs are on it

strong summit
#

Odd... I might have to try going back to read it again, because it was not added to my journal prior to the blackmire update...

#

in spite of having read it, and it not having a red glow

#

...Crap. where was it again?

fossil parcel
#

I remember finding it after a long search in East Lapis, it was glowing red and it was added to the lore list after reading it. Now it's not again, and if I go back there the paper is considered "read" and not glowing anymore

strong summit
#

Yeah, east lapis.

#

Although the wiki says hollow halls...

#

I forgot where in east lapis though... Grr

#

Also has anyone found the second page to Val's valiant tales or whatever?

#

Cause the journal now says there is a second but...

fossil parcel
#

yeah it says that, but it's wrong for that specific page

#

I think I've found it in the Mire, let me check

strong summit
#

I am reasonably sure that the exiled is in east lapis somewhere, or nearby. But... I'm not 100% sure since I got it a long time ago

sonic field
#

Dude they need to add an assassin skill tree! I wanna backstab with daggers and stealth

strong summit
#

They...literally have one

fossil parcel
#

Yes, it is 100% above ground in East Lapis, in a building, and not in the local HH

strong summit
#

Speaking of daggers though, their sneak attacks seem really brutal compared to other weapons. Do they have some kind of innate damage bonus that isn't listed?

fossil parcel
#

Going to search! ๐Ÿ˜„

strong summit
#

The crappy thing is I have no idea where to even start to look for it, or if it's even properly in the game. xD

fossil parcel
#

The first one was in the Blue Goblet tavern, so it could be everywhere on the map

strong summit
#

The blue goblet wasn't even on the map until recently

elder parrot
#

If archers gets dex-daggers,
Will melee'ers get smol strenght based crossbows or something, hmm? For fairness

(Tho i dont mind for real tho ^^ i dont need to pewpew)

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

I said 'on the map'

#

Meaning there was no icon

#

not that it didn't exist

#

I actually put a manual icon for it prior to the update xD

#

Okay... read banishment...still wasn't added to my lore. So for me at least, it's still bugged. >:

elder parrot
#

time to get back to enshrouded ^^
need to flax to make more wells to grow more flax,
and i need to burn copper ore to mix with tin to get more bronze
but i also need sand to get more smelters.

^^ time to be strong woman and get to grind!

fossil parcel
#

Sand is easy at least ๐Ÿ˜„

strong summit
#

Honestly, I think some of the farming recipes are just stupidly overly convoluted. Like, "I take fruit from this tree. Why do I need 5 other things just to make seeds out of it?"

#

Because when you combine the time it takes for the plants to fully grow, and all the materials required to make the seeds, it's often easier and faster to just farm the stuff in the wild...

strong summit
#

Howso? When you can build a piddly level 1 flame altar near a source. Log in, grab, log out, repeat.

#

no resources required to make seeds. no time waiting for the plants to grow.

#

My statement is in no way false whatsoever

fossil parcel
#

But you are exploiting the system in that way, it's like using devcommands on valheim to generate resources fast

#

If you want to play full survival, you have to take the time to do all the steps to get what you want

strong summit
#

The world resetting is literally a feature of the game.

sonic field
#

how is the stealth in this game?

strong summit
fossil parcel
strong summit
sonic field
strong summit
#

Like the hollow halls? It's almost impossible to stealth in them because there are sheer hordes of skeletons.

#

and narrow hallways where you pretty much cannot sneak

#

And in some cases the skeletons are 100% always looking towards the entrance so... you literally cannot get in unseen.

#

But like you said, if you want to do the purist route and grow everything? Whatever you find fun.

fossil parcel
#

For some others you are not, and your statement is true.

#

So it's a matter of point of views and no more, it's useless to fight on such points because you'll never be able to convince the other that you're right and he is not.

#

So, I say, just play, and that's it ^^

strong summit
#

Thing is, it's not cheating at all. You don't have to use any mods, third party programs, or anything. That isn't an opinion, that's an objective fact. The game mechanics are that you log out, the world resets. Now if you have your own server and you make your own 'house rules'? that's another story.

sonic field
#

so u think it's worth the buy, if im looking to backstab and stealth majority of the time? or wait for some updates?

strong summit
#

Hmm... I personally have enjoyed the stealth gameplay of the game yeah. especially if you lure enemies into their own traps and stuff. You CAN use arrows and etc to distract enemies too.

fossil parcel
#

Does it means that, in general, you are cheating? No, it doesn't. It's all on perspective and point of views, no more, no less.

strong summit
#

I personally consider 'cheating' to be if you are breaking the actual game rules itself or doing stuff that you flat out normally cannot do at all. EG: enabling godmode, flying, etc.

pliant quarry
#

I mean you can set whatever rules for yourself you want, including using mods, logout cheesing (or not), etc. We're not cops

#

Personally I think the logout cheese is very... Not fun? But I also get why some people do it if they really want to chase the best gear possible. I don't like doing it in my playthroughs though.

strong summit
#

I do it in some cases, specifically because farming is not fun at all.

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

Spend 5 minutes waiting for seed to turn into sapling at the garden thing, spend 15 minutes waiting for the damn plant to grow period... this isn't fun for me. xD

#

But it is worth noting that without any world resetting mechanics, the entire world would end up empty very fast. To my knowledge stuff doesn't really respawn

#

So you'd almost never be able to really get many things, especially armor sets...

#

But yeah, I apologize if i seemed to come off as a bit abraisive.

#

I completely agree that this is a game so you should play in ways that you find fun. (Unless that includes griefing people in the multiplayer games... that is a completely different story)

fossil parcel
#

Well, if you play "hardmode" (that is, never logout/login) you have to wait for some time before everything pops back again.

#

Plants regrow, chests reset, and all that, at least every "game day".

#

I think the only resource that did not regrow was obsidian, for obvious reasons XD

strong summit
#

Odd. Because I remember coming back to a chest at the oasis about 2-3 real life hours later...The chest was 'closed' but when I kicked it open nothing was in it etc...

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

:

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

Oh. Are Scavengers Humans by the way? Does anyone actually know? Reason I'm asking is because it's kind of annoying that they can just hang out in the shroud for hours without any consequence but you die in like 10 minutes.

#

Cause there are multiple places where there are scavengers near or inside the shroud. and they don't take any damage or anything from being in it. |:

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

Wait, does it show up in any of the lore pages? I could probably read it for myself then. xD

fossil parcel
#

It was quite interesting

strong summit
#

Yeah. the Matrons are... Disturbing.

fossil parcel
#

Yep, honestly after you read about them you understand that they are one of the most... horrifying things about the story of the game

strong summit
#

I do wonder exactly what the heck the Elixir is made out of exactly, and why you can't find any of the actual liquid of the elixir itself, even in the elixir wells. Only pre-bottled stuff. xD

fossil parcel
#

That's in the lore too, a good explanation on what actually the Elixir is is given by the Alchemist. Another very interesting read

strong summit
#

The shroud seems to be some kinda weird ass mushroom that more or less highjacks the entire DNA of whatever breathes it in. Almost reminds me of that fungus that turns animals into aggressive zombies etc

fossil parcel
#

Honestly, this to the devs, the lore of this game is sooo good!! fell_justright

strong summit
#

Yeah. I agree.

viral scarab
#

It's always given me Nausicaa vibes, which is definitely not a bad thing.

#

I'm waiting for them to add a lush area just called "Valley of the Wind" or something ๐Ÿ˜

strong summit
#

Although I will say it's kind of weird that you are supposedly this magical creature powered by fire, but you can apparently die to a campfire if you walk through it >_>

#

Flameborn: walks through a campfire they put down
Also Flameborn: burns to death
Flameborn: FLAME, WHY HAVE YOU BETRAYED ME?

fossil parcel
strong summit
#

Like I dunno it just feels like you should have some kind of natural resistance to fire or something xDDD

fossil parcel
#

Yeah I mean, dear Ancients could you have prepared these vessels in a better way? C'mon! ๐Ÿ˜„

#

ancients reappear and wipe us off the map XD

strong summit
#

I will say one thing though...

#

If they are going to make some kinda last ditch legendary hero to save the world...

#

Why the hell put them with little more than rags on their backs, no weapons, no food, no anything in the place you keep them etc. |:

#

Like c'mon wtf man. you're gonna make this thing that is supposed to save the world and then just "Yeah... Why should we supply them with weapons or armor? That's too much work."

viral scarab
#

If I recall correctly, the plan was for you to wake up after a few years, not like... untold hundreds

strong summit
#

Feels like training soldiers irl, spending 3-8 years doing so, and then 'Oh we aren't gonna give you a gun or anything.'

#

Yeah, but still, you don't find any stockpiles of weapons, decayed or otherwise in the place you wake up at. So they literally didn't give you anything xD

#

Meanwhile survivors? Wake up and have hammers, lutes, full sets of clothing, etc,etc

fossil parcel
#

instead now we don't even know how many years have passed, probably hundreds

strong summit
#

Honestly though, I really would like to see the game world before everything went to hell basically. Cause they have some potentially beautiful looking cities.

viral scarab
#

Yeah, I imagine it to be more of an emergency "get in the pod" scenario than a "carefully prepared with everything in place" scenario

strong summit
#

That'd make kind of a cool pre-quel game honestly.

viral scarab
#

Bonus points if it's reversible with one side pre-calamity and other side post-calamity
