- Add the next effect: Face Liquify
The tutorial usually moves from "stretching" (pulling skin) to "liquifying" (bulging or puckering).
• Go back to the Scene Hierarchy (top left panel).
• Click the [+] button.
• Search for Face Liquify and select it.
• Next step: Just like before, double-click the new "Face Liquify" object to open its specific editor and try bulging the eyes or mouth. - Check the Inspector Panel
After editing the dots, the tutorial often wants you to learn how to control the "strength" of the effect:
• Click once on your Face Stretch object in the Scene Hierarchy.
• Look at the Inspector panel (on the far right).
• Find the Feature slider. Slide it back and forth to see the stretch go from normal (0) to extreme (1). - Preview on yourself
Before moving to 3D objects or scripting, the tutorial recommends testing the tracking:
• In the Preview panel (right side), click the Webcam icon to see the stretch on your own face in real-time.
• Or, click the dropdown above the preview video to switch to different "models" (like someone smiling or opening their mouth) to see how your stretch reacts. - Moving to the next major Lesson
If you are following the official Snap guide, the next big module after "Built-in AR Effects" is "Add 3D Content."
• This involves clicking [+] and adding a Head Binding object.
• This allows you to attach hats, glasses, or 3D masks that follow the user's head movement.
Hlo
on step 1. after doing face liquify and face stretch. both steps. i am still not able to proceed to next step T-T
how can i share a screen shot here
- Check your Layer Order (Hierarchy)
In the Scene Hierarchy (left panel), Lens Studio renders things from top to bottom.
• The Problem: If your Face Mask is above your Liquify/Stretch objects, sometimes the distortion doesn't "catch" the mask correctly.
• The Fix: Make sure your Face Mask is at the bottom of your Face Effects list. This ensures the face is stretched first, and then the mask is "painted" onto that stretched face. - The "Face Index" Trap
If you added the effects separately, check the Inspector panel for each one:
• Ensure Face Index is set to 0 for all three (Stretch, Liquify, and Mask).
• If one is set to 1, Lens Studio is looking for a second person in the camera to apply that specific effect to, which is why it might look like it's "not working" on you. - Connecting the Texture
If you have the Face Mask object but it's just invisible or showing the default face: - Select the Face Mask in the Objects panel.
- In the Inspector, look for the Texture field.
- Click it and select your custom image from your Resources.
- Crucial: If you want the mask to look like it's part of the skin, change the Blend Mode (just below the texture) from Normal to Multiply or Soft Light.
Still not seeing it?
If you've done the above and the screen still hasn't changed, try this "Reset" trick:
• Go to the Preview panel and make sure you have a person's face selected (not the "Static" image).
• Check if the Checkmark next to the Face Mask in the Objects panel is actually turned on.
