Hi. I am working using the Custom Location asset provided by lens. The Default location mesh that comes with it has its texture on but, my the mesh from my scanned location is totally black with no texture, Any help?

@toxic kiln That’s not really an issue - Custom Landmark Creator simply captures just the mesh, and you can build the Lens on top of it later.

@whole solar thanks for the response. My issue though is that since I can't see the texture on the mesh and it's all black, I'm not 100% certain where to place objects.

@toxic kiln Is the material black or grey!?

@whole solar Totally black. And is not being affected by light too

@toxic kiln Weird!! Is it possible for you to share the location id - so I can have a look?

Also on a sidenote, please what's the difference between Camera Kit and Snap Kit?

@toxic kiln If you're capturing the mesh using an Android device, you might run into the black material issue. One possible reason i can think for this is the lack of a LiDAR sensor. However, if you capture it using an iPad or a Pro/Pro Max iPhone, the issue should be resolved.

Wow! that's a bummer 😅. I had read in the documentation that one didn't need a phone with a lidar sensor anymore. Thanks for the help. I'll try to borrow an IPhone.

@toxic kiln However, one possible solution I can think of is - to actually explicitly change the material of Location Mesh (replacing it by PBR) - might help to some extent.

@whole solar so I tried that but the texture didn't show. Just a solid coloured diffuse

@toxic kiln No, the texture will not appear - that’s what I’ve observed. The Custom Landmark feature captures only the mesh, not its texture, regardless of whether you capture it from Android or iOS. So, you'll need to work solely with the mesh. The solution I suggested will make it much easier for you to navigate within the mesh by removing the black texture issue.
