I'm re-creating this thread because closing it on the simple statement that "you all can't argue without insulting each other" isn't fair especially when we are expressing our weariness about the game and because it's bullshit to say that when it was a few instances while most of the issue we are talking about are related to a lack of communication and not even necessarily the time the update takes to release. Closing it on the simple basis that we should "be patient" is avoiding the problem. It's by arguing that we find common grounds and share ideas.
#Update when ? :weary :wear

let the arguing commence
I've seen thread with personal insults going on and on without being closed so I call bullshit on this one.
Alright, dickweed.

I mean the more you guys protest the update, the longer it will take
and probably worse
That's not how it works at all
And it's not about how long it takes
It's about about communication and priority
so your telling me the name of this thread isnt named "update WHEN"
They arent obliged to tell us when an update is
You forgot the question mark
cool
It depends, if they want their community to be there for the game they have the obligation to reassure people over the development. Especially when they claim that the community is at the heart of the development process.
this smells parasocial
"Collaboration" goes both ways for instance
Please, explain
They can read our ideas without filling us in on anything
They surely have been peeping in
Id wouldnt engage in PR though if I wasnt 100% sure on smth
The CM said he didn't know the Split Screen was broken and doesn't work properly after 2 months of people making thread on the subject. I'm not saying they don't, but here is an example of thing that is contradictory to what their narative suggests
And it would still be bad communication anyway
Are you saying communication is fine right now?
They arent obliged, as developers and not a PR team, to communicate directly with us. 🥀
Why?
I can surely see why they should communicate, first in order to be involved in the communication process. And secondly because the game is in a terrible state.
You dont really need a why, Devs dont need to talk to us
It could help
But they are under no need
You make the claim they don't have to, I'm asking why they don't have obligation in your opinion
they have one community manager
then why did they communicate with their fanbase before?
They weren't obliged either
But still they did it and people loved it, it built trust and more people bought the game because of that
This just says that they did communicate at some point, this doesnt force them to continue this pattern
Am I saying they are forced? No, I'm saying they should because people are mad about the communication and it desn't help building trust especially when we are asked to wait for we don't know how long before some of use are able to play the game
🥀
In any case, they have a community manager, it's his job to communicate
🚰
does he?
You don't agree, that's fine honestly. But if you don't have any argument for your position I'm not interested in having this conversation with you
Hypothetically yes
what do you mean hypothetically. (btw i am on your side here. i totally agree that the lack of communication has been pretty shitty to the community, especially after EA released in such a mixed state)
It's supposed to be his job communicating with us, it's why I said "hypothetically yes" because it's what he supposedly should do (at some extent)
I mean, this is just fallacious. It's shifting the blame on the players "you just have to get used to the changes" when in fact it's about the weak wrists that people are complaining and not the feel of the game itself.
If they wanted to be honest they could have said something in the lines of "Because of this, combat can be different between updates while these systems continue to evolve. An attempt at improving the control on our end can sometimes result in a massive change and cause unwanted effects such as broken grip or unbalanced strength in Willy's body like in the wrists causing problems in the handling of the character's weapons."
Developers are never obliged to communicate but it's logical that the community would be placated if they got something from the devs
They can choose not to, but I think that ultimately does more harm than good
Thankfully mcwonder did say some things that hint to what the next update could fix so I think I'm fine with waiting a bit now
Where did he say that?
you can check my messages and see that I replied to some stuff he said
we still don't know what new things are added but he brought up some things that suggest the update will fix issues like posture balancing and wrists
as long as the fundamental issues with EA are being fixed in the next update, I'm satisfied
Alright thanks, though I'm a bit pissed that we don't have communication more openly with announcements like "Don't expect a release for the medieval fest, it's actually not ready" Like he did in a chat. I think this is the least they can do (communication).
I don't frequent much chat in this server because I see just too many messages at once so I focus on the feedback bug reporting chats since it's the easiest for me. So if there are statements made outside I can't see them or at least I am unlikely to see them. It's why I think it would be best if there was a channel dedicated to discussing the current state of the game (such as the stuff he discussed).
In any case we are bound to wait that's for sure, I'm not against a big update coming in like 2 months but I am against it being the priority given the state of the game. I also think that if the game is as broken or even more so than it is now, that they are risking a big shitstorm.
they obligated themselves saying on store page that one of the EA goals is to fully integrate community into development process. So if they are being honest and really want to use our help and listen to feedback they should at least give some basic info that they saw issues people are showing because right now i saw more proof that they are reading nothing
