This is most likely not a bug, but a feature. From the looks of it your character har a jack on. If you swap it with an arming doublet, you will "unlock"/free up more armor slots. I discovered this yesterday, and it kind of makes sense. But, I still haven't figured out what garment I need to put on for cuisses to be "unlocked"... I hope that they add some sort of explanation/guide in game later on 🙂 @stable mulch @steep shuttle

Yeah, you need an arming doublet, btw for pauldrons and vambraces you need the arming doublet too. and make sure it has no chains attached to it.

Might very well be some breast plate since its slot appears to be connected with the slot for the cuissess. I still haven't found out how to unlock its slot, though... :/

With or without chains attached? Neither modification seems to let me equip cuisses.

My tree looks like this now. I've noticed that no slot is covered with gray vines. Perhaps it was the arming doublet. But I stil wonder why the cuisses slot is highlighted with red 🧐 Please let me know if you guys figure out why.

IRL arming doublets have attachment points allowing you to attach armor so it’s 100% realistic

Precisely. Such a cool added feature. Maybe I can equip cuisses now, despite the slot being highlighted with red. I just need to findand buy some from the salesman.
