Westpoint seems more like the place to go once you have a vehicle, lots of guns and melee weapons, and some experience

Okie so I've cleared out a decent area around a good house. It's got a basement with washer/dryer, a 2nd floor, a good amount of rooms, a spot to park my car, the works. How do I zombo-proof it?

Curtains on all windows, turn the car off. Gather a buncha planks and close off every window on each side with barricades.

Add sheet ropes using a hammer and nails across the second story. Destroy the stairs to the second story if you have a sledge hammer and are super worried (or have a fence or something at the top of your stairs)

Make sure you also always have an alternative exit

4 hour days but the power and water don't go off is what I set it for. Night time is brutal though but I just use that to sort out my loot and clean shit.

PvP multiplayer sounds like it could be fun with the right group. Prior to this run I only ever played the game with a few friends before and they all had their own ways of playing that didn't really mesh with mine.

One just used debug mode to teleport us everywhere, and another group just wanted to base build

Maybe We Can Win This, Gear Up, Determination, all of these combat tracks, especially when kicked into high gear when facing down a horde, all directly conflict with the themes that the player is going to die. These tracks bring high intensity hope into a battle, with stings that are oddly heroic, and a stark contrast to the slower, softer, more pain filled tracks. The world is dead, but you are not, and the very fact that you have the ability to stand your ground is a testament to your tenacity and resolve. To be faced with extinction and double down on seeing tomorrow.

Furthermore, the phrase "This is How You Died" is an iconic part of the game. It perfectly encapsulates that sense of hopelessness that the end of the world warrants.
