Character creation bug when changing menus workaround:
Step 1: Open Steam, then select "Steam" in the top left corner. Select "Settings" from the list that appears.
Step 2: From settings, scroll down to "Cloud".
Step 3: Turn OFF "Enable Steam Cloud".
Step 4: Go to "C:\Users\AppData\Local\HalfSwordUE5\Saved\SaveGames". Delete both "GameProgress.sav" and "Steam_autocloud.vdf"
Step 5: Relaunch your game and start progression mode. If you see the intro cutscene, the fix has worked.

Also instead of navigating manually you can press [windows key]+R and paste this ⁨%localappdata%\HalfSwordUE5\Saved\SaveGames⁩
