A few reasons I'm very sure, so the original line that covers the interesting bits of history is probably one line since they have coats of arms that connect them.
The line of thr family that held the original white and black coat of arms ended around 1602, but going a couple generations back from that in 1545 a younger sibling inherited a great deal of land much further south of where the family was based, taking his "cadet branch" with him most people with my family name, especially anyone in my county or anyone in Ireland, comes from him.
The main thing linking me to him is that I can trace my father's back multiple hundred years and they basically don't move from the village I live in... Funnily enough the younger sibling in 1545 who moved south ended up living in my exact village.
So basically my line of father's going back and the original line of sons going forward both end in my village, with only a few generations of uncertainty seperating them.

Final Opinions:
I can live without the QTE combat. Ended up putting it on Story Mode so the attacks were on Auto. After parrying an enemy for 30 minutes, adding in QTEs for attacks is too much for me. Perhaps if they were just on the Gradients that would be ok, but nearly every skill having two QTEs got annoying.
Music is masterwork. Sound track is now in my top 5 of all time. (And i've played A LOT of games in the past 40 years)
Art/Graphics are outstanding, especially for a smaller team. Though I noticed the same as i've seen in a few other Indie games. The first half was perfectly polished, but the second half started to get a bit messy. Still amazing though.
Narrative is really great, but there were a few things left a bit ambiguous and not well explained. Perhaps if you 100% the game you get more of the smaller details explained. There was a bit of optional content I did not complete.
Voice Acting is probably the best i've ever seen. The actors did a phenomenal job.
The overall story was pretty great. I love a story where there is no clear happy ending.
Does this land in my "Top Games of All Time"? No. But a contender for sure.
