Do just waltz around his ass confidently (you can outwalk him even,) and pick up a weapon. Be a little careful about distance during picking up the weapon. There he can get ya.

Once you have your weapon just get close enough for him to swing. Whiff his ass then kill him

That first boss is whiff city infact. I've killed myself more times trying to be all fancy and do cool shit impaling myself on his axe then he has killed me fairly

Speaking of be careful of butter touching the blade and losing your entire body
