I forgot the name but the perk that gives you an increased chance of knocking opponents out, but it can carry you in the late game if used properly. When it fails I use my bow which I also max out early.

In the first game knocking out ppl was hard until you had level 15 strength

2nd game the little green shield really ain't that hard to hit

They really are op in a realism sense. Spears should be more effective then they are. The combat system was always focused on longsword so it makes sense it came out the way it did. They did allot more to balance it in 2 but I still feel like longsword is the meta winner.

I never left skalitz until I maxxed out strength and lockpicking. During alpha testing there was not a game loop outside of the beginning missions. Picking flowers until you unlock legday and then clearing the entire region of herbs is the way to go.

Honestly it is realistic that the mace does not have allot of complex movesets. They were more often then not used by cavalry. You would need to be a skilled warrior to go Mace and shield against longsword.
