The early game grind is my favorite part. After I can hotwire cars and build just about anything survival becomes too easy. I end up always doing some stupid mission into Louisville. My favorite to date was moving the art museum into my base in the warehouse outside northfarm.

That's why I do cyrowinter!! It forces me to be constantly desperate, and that paired with smart zombies (or sprinters), as well as insane loot spawns set me up for success!! :D

Yeah I need to do a hardcore run again. My preferred scenario is a Day one. So loot settings are midrange. My zombie population settings though scale dramatically at the peak. I also have my rally group and follow distance settings almost maxxed.
Basically the first week is rather easy, then the population scales to the point of daily herd clearing.
