Devs have decided not to go with it because (afaik) the physics system is complex enough that traditional methods of doing multiplayer would result in massive lag. Because of this it would take a lot of time and resources to figure out and they didn't see it as worth it.
That said, you can do split-screen over remote-play, though its fairly buggy right now.

Doesn't even need to be once a week, but yeah even Project Zomboid did that for a good while lol. If those update slugs can do something like that, with a baby indie team, then there's no excuse for projects larger than one guy in a basement.

I cant even convince my friends to try the demo anymore, the ratings have been bombed so hard on EA that not one person ik irl is willing to even try it. Lol

Doesn't help that the optimization is still horrific. I can max out Cyberpunk or RDR2 with a solid 60, but my rig positively shits all over itself if I ask it to run the friggin' slums.

Whoever let the level designer go absolutely hog wild on adding detail to the distant background, which can't be turned off by lowering settings, is an absolute goober.

This is very relatable. Im currently running forza horizon 6 on max settings at 60fps with no issues, cant even run HS above medium without serious framerate issues. No idea why the games so demanding.

Not a problem in like 99% of indie situations probably, but if you're making a physics combat sim and letting your level artist decorate it with 53,594 high resolution assets, you should probably see how the average rig handles it before going to EA lmao.

I say all of this having completed Progression mode of course. I love the game and want it to thrive, I'm not trying to down the devs. But an echochamber of positivity does no good either, and radio silence on Steam is just indefensibly stupid.

Im in the same boat as you, I just want to see this game thrive because I love it, saddens me deeply that the devs decided complete silence and secrecy was the best route to go down. Hoping that future updates don't go this way again, if it does I dont see the ratings recovering, ever
