I have worked in a few areas before, going from restaurant to small-business craftsman to masonry. In all of these instances, there is an expectation of completion. Stonewalling the customer when it comes to "Time-to-Completion" is generally one the more annoying things you can do. People wanna know that work is being done.

They're not No Man's Sky with a slamdunk success of millions of copies sold meaning they can coast by on their earnings, they're an indie dev team with an indie publisher; and their seeming refusal to play ball with appeasing evangelists (a marketing term for fans with the energy to spread it) is not a smart move to me.
