Yes people are specifically talking about one handed stabbing, since the animation was changed.
You raise weapons above your head when you pull back, and its still more like a less efficient downwards swing when you move your mouse forward unless you aim prior to holding alt, and move the mouse perfectly and quickly before your arm has time to raise above your head.
