I was knocking out knights pretty easy with the staff. I get what you mean on balancing, I don't disagree, my only real point is the blade part should do noticeable blunt damage to the head if you get a hood smack in.

Just telling you, there sources that say blunts weren't the best against armored opponents, and there some that say they one shotted you.

For the most part, it's highly believed blunt damage wasn't the knight problem solver.

Flat end of the sword is the worse way to do anything to a knight historically.

You would want to throw them to the floor by half swording [that's plausible ingame btw]

Or hitting their head with the pommel so you can gain control of them to throw them to the floor.

the speed and the angle matter a lot. if you pull straight to the side, it cuts quite often. I pulled left and down in that clip, so it was more the flat of the blade pushing down on his shoulder that was doing the work than the cutting edge going behind his neck

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the bug you're having, but when the game starts up all the graphics settings are cooked, they're not what you set it to during your last session.

In previous versions of the game, some effects wouldn't even enable until you switched to the higher graphics settings, then back down to what you want.

The game also doesn't save your graphics settings properly until you hit save, then open the settings menu again, and hit save.

So when I start up the game, I open settings, switch the preset to epic, then back down to medium, save, open settings, save.
