im boutta crash out can somebody give me some advice for early game (beggar-peasant)? I'm getting my ass kicked over and over and over

it feels like im fighting against luck. Like i can find a strategy that works 9/10 times but in need to fight like 30 people to get out of beggar/peasant so that 9/10 times mean i have to get very lucky 3 times. I played a lot of the demo and i enjoyed fighting in armor, i guess i should have practiced more for low level because i feel like i'm missing out on a big part of the game unless i can get passed this consistently enough so as not to be a detriment to every future run.
