Franz awakens to find himself inside a coffin engulfed inside a deep and endless abyss. The dead man approaches him, but as a withered ghoul. Franz still tries to follow his oath, the oath he already broke. instead of grabbing his axe out of his holster, he instead grabs the wooden shovel and deals great blows to the ghoul's head. However, the ghoul still stands. Franz accidentally drops the shovel, and in an attempt to not grab his still-holstered axe, he grabs the lantern on the ground instead and attempts to swing towards the ghoul. He leans to close and gets trapped in the ghoul's clutches, getting bitten numerous times to where Franz falls on the cold, stone floor, bleeding. Miraculously, he is able to stand up while the ghoul is stunned. Franz is then left with the difficult choice to kill the undead man and be free, or to leave him and stay trapped wandering in the boundary between life and death. He ultimately makes his decision.

yes, grabbing enemies first helps, you can also tap alt when you're holding it overhead and your character will perform a fast downward stab, though the angle is often a little off

if you manage to grab hold of an enemy's head, you'll often plunge the dagger into their neck or shoulder, though if they're wearing pauldrons and a decent cuirass, you probably won't hit them with it, it's for finishing off people on the ground rather than a weapon for battle, though in lower levels it's really good in your offhand if you're using a sword and targe too

you can use it to parry and punch pretty effectively, even without a targe.

it essentially just lets you throw hands and maybe get a lucky stab or two whilst also using a sword, this is very effective up until you hit veteran rank

your character holds it low too, so it protects your guts if you don't have faulds and mid-section protection

there you go, this works with any mainhand weapon, so it'll probably demolish the earlier ranks, all the way past soldier rank, then it falls off in favour of polearms

shoulder pavise or targe with a rondel makes your offhand basically impenetrable once you have gauntlets too

and again, you can punch really fucking hard with it if you need to, and sometimes you'll find a gap and get an instant kill

What worked for me when collecting his armor, was quickly take out his guards, then exercise bait and punish tactics. Stay out of range, but close enough to close the gap after they take the bait so you can push in a punish him.

Dude, the game is physics-based — you can’t just spam-click your opponent and expect to win. You have to manage your stamina, conserve your strength, and keep your balance. You can fall because you’re overloaded or exhausted, or because you already took a hit to the head and your stability is shot.

The game kind of progresses in cycles. First it’s fist fights — easy. Then it’s hobos with swords — one good hit decides everything. Then it gets harder — you’re getting wrecked by a simple spiked stick. And only once you turn into a literal walking tin can (full armor) do you actually start surviving consistently.

As for your weapon flying out of your hands — that can happen for a bunch of reasons. It’s not always a bug.
