Shears have a much 'fairer' hitbox/damage box. You can get easy accidental neck swipes. Though max gore is more fun imo after playing beta for so long, with higher damage sliders on too. EA I've not played enough of to form my own opinion on the weapons in it.

They are with the default swinging. The 'outside' of the shears do barely any damage. It's the tips that have the damage box on. So they just hit things for no damage most of the time. They're a bad weapon for sure.

Axes get 'propelled' by themselves, if that makes sense. They make contact, and unlike most weapons in the build, they don't slow down on contact when meeting flesh. Most weapons always slow down on hit, which makes them do less damage. Swords and axes have this property.

shouldn't just use swords at that high of a rank but I'd suggest crafting a very light longsword that way you can use it one handed with a shield and two handed without a shield so you don't have any issues with swinging it no matter how you're holding it.
