I do think there could be some mystery involved in the lore here, possibly surrounding Jester as well. With the missing book page, the weird books found in slums, alley and lord's hall, and Jester's dagger. Those same books appear in the intro movie as well, stacked on the desk in the top left(1st pic). Also in that picture is Jester's unsheathed dagger. We can see it on his hip in the tavern in a red sheath(2nd and 3rd pic). It's also the dagger used for the mouse cursor in-game, last pic being the cursor texture itself I extracted.

The Baron and the Jester are apparently close, the Baron letting the Jester rig the traps in the East Tower and such -

Again, no. Split Screen still runs on one instance of the game with one set of physics.

With MP, 50 ms of ping can still cause an uncomfortable bit of delay with how fluently things can move, either resulting in hits either not registered as heavily as they should, or the client receiving a lethal cut even though they had stopped the blade on their side of the screen.

It's a game that requires ACCURATE physics. Games like 'Gang Beasts' have the benefit of not having very accurate contact damage and doing a bit of input lag to compensate for ping.

Half Sword can't exactly slow things down without it feeling deathly sluggish.

I'm also curious what happened to the old Lord, since Baron is technically under Lord but it seems the Baron is acting as the current Lord, taking up in his hall after his death. Also we haven't yet heard anything about the Duke, who I'm speculating may make an appearance or be referenced to in the future, since that would be the title above Lord and the icon after Lord is wearing a coronet, typically worn by dukes(1st pic attached).

There's also some interesting stuff going on with the internal names of these icons. The rank system seems to be categorized in a certain way, like tiers. Tier 1 would be the ranks beggar, peasant and commoner, all brown shields and a star indicating rank. Beggar is 1 star, Peasant 2 star, Commoner 3 stars. This repeats once you reach Militia, which is 1 star, then 2 stars for Soldier, 3 for Veteran.

This changes up a bit in the next tier though. Man At Arms is 1 star, Knight is 2 stars, then it just goes straight to Lord, but technically Baron should be the rank after Knight, being 3 stars and being the 9th rank (like it was in the demo) but it seemingly skips ahead right in the middle of the next tier, landing on the rank of Lord.

This is reflected as well by the internal naming of these icons(2nd pic). Beggar through to Knight are internally numbered 1 to 8, but 9 and 10 are skipped, 9 having been Baron in the demo, with the demo having the same type of numbered rank system(3rd pic). So it goes from Knight (8) to Lord (11) with the final rank technically being Duke (12) but atm it's unobtainable, we just get Baron's armor pieces. So I'm curious how this will change/be added onto in the future. I could be wrong about all this, just speculating.

Also the internal name for the Lord rank icon is "11_Duke" and the unreachable "Duke" rank being named "12_Lord" but I believe this is a mistake of course.

@idle crane I found more of the carved heads, sort of. In the old teaser images for the East Tower map, more carved heads can be seen at the top of each pillar. Actually, now that I look at it, it seems this is either an entirely different trap room or it's the same room but it's been reworked with the spiked logs hanging from the ceiling. In the pic attached, the pillars are spiked with metal. That also I think explains the odd floating metal spike outside of the room in-game(pic 4).

yeah true, could be. Traps game mode. I also have a theory about that. On the back wall of that map, there is a door with two crayfish painted above it. I believe this may potentially lead into another trap room, with "crayfish" traps as they are internally referred to. I found textures of a metal object named "Trap_Crayfish" (pic attached).

On the Traps card that was teased, there appears to be metallic objects that slide across the floor, damaging one person's foot. I'm speculating that these are the "crayfish" traps and we haven't seen them yet. Also those iron spikes on the pillars are still internally referred to as "Trap_Spikes_Iron" by their textures, and there's one left over floating outside the window of course. I'm guessing there will be multiple different trap rooms.

I'm going to try and find the model for the crayfish trap, if it exists.
