From what I know so far the main game mode will be:
You pick your player character from a small selection.
You enter the "Tavern" as a HUB of activities
In the Tavern, there are several NPCs which you can interact with.
Each has their own errands to send you on, and a selection of things to trade for.
The errands send you to different locations where you need to perform their task
Rise & Repeat.
I am also under the impression that there will be several game modes. One of which will be the Free Mode Arena.

And the BIGGEST tip I can give you.
Learn to move the mouse in small motions. While it feels awesome to throw the mouse from one side of the desk to the other for a massive swing, it isn't necessary and more often than not, will make you over swing. Learn to move the sword in small tight movements.

Start by swinging your mouse side to side in a straight line while practicing. Turning down mouse sensitivity towards the O or the U in the word mouse on the bar is where I keep mine. It takes practice but you'll get the hang of making swings.

I’ve been winging it so to speak up until now but definitely focused my ~15 hour...
A lot of techniques work well, even most of the master cuts can be achieved. I think the main shortfall is the lack of a proper bind. Longswords don’t have any bite so you can’t really do a lot of the technical moves that are distinct in long sword duelling, additionally the thrust is kinda janky and seems to try and come only from the hip and is really weak.
Another major drawback is the tendency for AI to focus on big swings which not only opens them up but also limits what you can actually achieve.
Finally the auto parry feature is a massive pain because it throws off your parries completely, as you go to adjust the mouse but the computer has decided that the blade is going to come in from another angle, causing the blade to pass right through your guard.

It works better in a top down game like examina but even that game's auto parry can fuck you over. Fighting with a heavy pole arm against a fast sword, for example, can put you in a really dumb auto parry loop.
