when i first got the demo(back when it was just abyss) thats the only way i played, i didnt know you could run around in other directions to avoid reaching the boss as soon, if you just run straight you get the minimum enemy count before boss fight, less time to collect loot tho

i normally just go with a polearm and for brave stands pull out the sword

not sure if its all in my head but the circular polehammer with the little spike in the middle seems more wieldy than the other polearms

iirc that face has slightly more weight than the axe head, so it carries momentum a bit smoother

prob my second favourite polearm variant, handles super well

how did you do that maneuver at 5 seconds

well, the downward swing/parry was done by using alt, dragging down then up(pulls the polearm down into thrust stance, added with the upward mouse movement pushes the arms out to get maximum reach) followed by a stance switch, if timed correctly itll make the head swing back up as shown

but the key with the alt swing part is to push up before you reach thrust stance, as it puts both hands towards the base of the haft, thus you get a swing at full distance rather than just a thrust at full distance
