Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

Poll, polle, pol etc. means “head” which can also refer to the back of an axe that is used to stun cattle (could be a modern meaning, I don’t know, does not appear in MED, could have evolved from its use of hitting the head (poll)). Axe, ax, ex, etc. means axe just as it does now, used for edging, chopping, whatever. There is also a tool separate from the medieval weapon call a poll axe or pole axe which is used to stun and then butcher cattle with the “poll” as mentioned before—I do not know if this term was used in the medieval period, it does not show this meaning in the MED. So it’s possible to say that the two terms are related and that pollax and its derivatives were used as a way of saying a weapon (as opposed to a tool) with an axe blade on the front and hammer in the back, like the tool has. It could also be saying a weapon with an axe at the head, or—similar to the stunning meaning—it could be an axe that is used to hit the head, etc. But obviously there are pollaxes with beaks and hammer heads and all varieties of weaponry, making it much more unclear. They might’ve just carried over the meaning from when pollaxes did generally have axe blades, into when they got pronged hammer heads and whatnot. In fact, I don’t think we have a direct meaning, only that poll does definitely in main context mean head, and axe does still refer to an axe as we do today. Whether it draws similarity to the tool, it is not 100%.

Also of note is that the weapon, whether hammer or axe, is generally referred to as axe all across Europe (ax,azza,hache,axt) and even in English it is not always attached to the word “poll”. I think my favorite thing to do is Kabe Parries

It's when you're in (I think it's tail guard?) then swing your sword up until it's in that sideways form

And if you time it right, you get a Kabe Parry

They're not very practical, but they allow for aurafarming
