when using lock enemy, the camera awkwardly looks at their hip level, it is fine for swonging swords but for thrusting it just means the spear goes into their legs, if i try to raise the camera tha also of course thrusts the weapons, and it slowlyddefaults back into the hips

That is indeed normal. For some reason, your line of sight defaults to lower than you'd like. Every match, I start by raising my line of sight to eye level with the opponenet, and often throughout the fight, I need to correct it again .
