Yeah theres a great champion at the end of each rank. If you die you start at rank 0 beggar, and must work your way back up. You can play free play to restart from the same class
You can hold g to lose 1 rank rather than restart, as long as you dont die first

I probably lock on most of the time at full power, and periodically briefly disable when I have something up my sleeves
