You can just get equipment stacked like if you get a hammer or some shit and then go against someone with a pitchfork and then trying to grab another case but something glitches out and you lose the weapon like its unlikely but I have had these individual things happen often and once so far together. Its demoralizing. Not everyone wants a sweaty ass mode as the only option. YOU can go ahead and play the mode where dying wipes your save and deal with the physics screwing up or skill issue. But a growing number of players don't give a fuck about becoming extremely proficient just to be able to do a run. Dying to bullshit is way too common of a problem in this game to have it wipe your progress back to zero.

I get you're just of the mindset of 'that's how the game is designed so deal with it' but like with as much respect possible, I think this is such a horrible take and it feels elitist as fuck when I hear people saying this or to 'git gud' or 'skill issue'. We literally have multiple people bitching in the channel every day because the only options are to 'cheat' or 'permadeath rogue like run' and people are always complaining about dying to bullshit. For a LARGE demographic of the players, losing everything to a couple deaths is not fun. Fun is an objective thing but there is so much middle ground beyond single life modes. Which granted a lot of the reason we probably don't have more is because the developers are working on the game as a whole as opposed to filler demo modes - but sitting there and saying that the game should only have single life modes that take away all your progress when you die and give you one chance in a glitchy abyss run is clearly the wrong choice when there's a lot of people who are all making the exact same criticism every day. If a couple people were then sure fun is a subjective taste but its every day, I've seen like 4 people in an hour rage about dying and losing everything. The point of video games is supposed to be fun - and there SHOULD be single life modes for people who don't get frustrated and have the skill and patience - like the current loop shouldn't be taken out - but ultimately the game needs more forgiveness or else people will just quit and that's bad.
