I don't move my arm or wrist at all when playing I just extend and unextend my fingers, not even like an inch of mouse movement for parrying, swinging slightly longer probably into 1-2 inch movements

though this is mainly dpi dependent

if I'm doing a displacement I'll get more into that swing behavior while still however doing a parry, so it knocks their blade aside to open them up, for that you sorta need to learn how to read when to do it

here's something that can be done with alt tapping without extending. pressing alt pulls the blade down as if poised for a thrust, but then you don't extend a thrust, instead release alt again and it will bring you back up to your previous guard. can be used for parries and strikes as you see here. good for building flow and momentum

you can use the raw mass of your weapon and its momentum to throw their weapon around and create openings

most of the time maces lose all structure when they hit another weapon

maces are one handed weapons that rely on momentum and speed to deal their damage, they're rather light so their stopped dead as soon as they hit something

there is actually a sort of funny way to circumvent the speed limitations on a mace

not only a very forward weight distribution, but the generally low weight and one handed nature, as well as being a blunt weapon, tends to make them bad at riposting

greatswords and axes are some of the best, high weight, long hafts, two hands, lots of potential

if you do a double hit and let go of the mouse button than do it again very quick, you won't lose any form of speed
