playing freemode with a variety of weapons and getting the feel for them is probably the best

and by getting the feel for them means not just swining wildly and trying to figure out the best method for yourself on how to manipulate the physics of the weapon

you will die 5000x times over in the process but so it goes for most games like this

Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

i have learned something that has made me rethink most medieval fights, fighting in huge armies was 100x worst than fighting in duels. mainly because in those huge armies, most of the men died from just falling over and being trampled.

spears were just terrible to have, because they would constantly be stabbing your allies.

Anyways, swords were perfectly fine weapons in the medieval era, though saying "medieval era" is like saying "modern era". There's a vast difference between the year 1901 and 2001 but both are "modern era"

Hey we totally understand your frustration. Unfortunately the fatal error is not a quick fix and is centered around a 3rd party plugin we did not develop ourselves.

We are working to resolve this issue however we have limited time and resources, we are focused on developing the EA build.

In the meantime you can disable blood in the gore settings, this resolves fatal errors for most users.
