I dislike it too, but I also dislike my game crashing every 5 seconds. It would be cool if they could get some hotfixes out to solve the issues. Just dont want this to be another one of those games that keeps piling on content without fixing issues that render the game mostly unplayable.

The key to longsword is just trusting in the passive parry system and improving off of that.
Accept you'll die a few times before you get a feel for it.
Moving your sword into the correct postions, responding accordingly, Willie will automatically parry
fine movements and working on your aim will help a lot
