Ok to be fair, it feels like you die from less while enemy's brush of hits like your blade isn't blading. But it is very doable. And weapons feel a lot more nicer in handling.

i’m not really sure how the damage model works, obviously you die if you get your throat cut or heart stabbed but is there other (near) instant kill areas like femoral artery etc?

getting hit in some spots causes you to very rapidly go from "fine" to " welp im falling over" at which point you basically immediately die once on the ground

there is but not as important as the jugular, however in your shoulder i believe there is a massive artery that can die of blood loss super fast

Hold it out until they swing at it or swing to keep distance, most of the timw if you can touch their weapon you can hit them.
