Rust is not based on a physics based engine. As mentioned already, it is planned.

But to implement it now would be more work than they need. Every single input has to be calculated by the physics engine, individual bones, player inputs, blood/gore, the way the weapon is moving, the way the weapon impacts, the list goes on and on.

It would take more from development than add to it.

my timing doesn't feel horrible, i can keep up with the footwork, weaving in and out of striking range. My main issue is with the actual swinging of the weapon. It either flails way off or im just butting them with the handle
