dx12 has shaders and Lumens activated, which are similar to RTX in a way.

If you have a dx12 enabled graphics card, it's worth a try, but you may also experience more lag and crashes.

If you do, swap it back to 11. You can do it manually from the steam launch options if it gets stuck in a loop of crashing.

dx12 has been optimized quite a bit with the demo update here and it runs better for some people, but it's a mixed bag.
