By using a static anim rather than procedural (possibly the wrongname but you know what I mean) it wouldn't be calculating distance/clamps etc and instead would just by rotating/scaling/locating bones so would be much less calc. To go one further you could also disable the physics bodies entirely during the instance and instead rely on the bounding box of the actor

though generally if you do a lot of damage, youll see more particles regardless.

Personally, I find having greater endurance and survivability to be more beneficial in the long run. My biggest obstacle lies not in killing the enemy, it lies in trying to not get randomly oneshotted by a flung weapon, or an enemy that lays down, whomst blade I accidentally kick. But that’s just my experience and opinion.
