The way the gore system works is by body duping. When a body part is cut off it actually just duplicates and the original is still there. You can experiment with this by cutting off a head, then kicking where the head should be. Youll notice youre still hitting an invisible head.

Which is also why gore is so demanding on our pcs. @twilit escarp as well

Lowering damage to player does not influence gore damage which has its own hidden settings, if you get hit in the wrong spot hard enough youll still die from a broken bone, cut artery, impalement, throat cut, etc.

I'm very much aware, it tries to recover performance by making the duplicated body immune to further damage (and therefor duping) but it's most noticeable when you cut someone in half like so, and you hear the screams double up.

yeah, it seems that bisection can be a bit wonky, severing limbs alone doesn't cause a duplication to occur, the limb still functions as it would do as if it were still attached to a body (I think I have a clip somewhere of a guy's leg hopping around after I cut it off)

if you have a longsword, or any other weapon you can halfsword, you can sidestep them, and then use your blade to control the polearm's shaft whilst you attack their wrists.
