When I'll try to close in past the point of their spear (or billhook, whatever,) it seems like even the slightest nudge of their shaft (don't laugh) knocks me over instantly - this probably is a skill issue, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong

Should I maybe be sprinting less? Does the shift key make me less balanced, even in CQC?
