Spears in general are a bit weirdly weighted and physics'd, especially one handed. You should be able to brace it on the otherside of the shield, as was common for the setup irl, but... Easier said than done, still doesn't fix the main issue

Make sure you guys are watching your stamina. Also it’s recommended to not use lock on for the last couple of boss fights because the auto lock on makes you look up more and that makes you unstable with armor.
