polearms you can either stab their weak points in armor, or you can hack right where the neck is. Its so easy to do a carnage with a poleaxe and just slice everyones throats in like 6 seconds. You can also halfsword them and swing for their throat. youll largely block their attacks while either killing them, or knocking them out

I downloaded the playtest yesterday and already have 10h, forsaking sleep and everything else. I could count this as a complete game 😄

Shields help a lot to just push the spear out of the way. The only real tactic is to dodge and rush. You just gotta close the gap and not run straight at them from the front. Once you knock it to the side with your shield or weapon, they’re toast

poleaxes and polehammers can knock down a fully armoured man with a good hit to the head

and maces are decent against both unarmoured and armoured opponents (but not great)

imo maces are a bit overrated as anti-armour weapons, i think the way they work ingame is fine

I'm awful with it, but the two handed mace is super satisfying when it works. The two handed spiked ball mace is much easier but also something about making it spikey feels less thunky and fun.
Longswords are what I'm best with, and I love using the spiked godendags as precision defensive weapons.
