Yeah, I was asking earlier if they could keep cinematic mode just for photos and Galaxy was saying there's not really any visual difference
In DX12 I find there's a significant enough difference if you're using it only for photo mode, but I wouldn't use it in gameplay because even my computer can't run it
I would say he's correct about there being no real difference between epic and cinematic in DX11, though

So to summarize:
No difference between Epic and Cinematic in DX11, your shaders don't apply
There's a difference between default Epic and Cinematic in DX12, your shaders enable in Cinematic mode. You can switch back to Epic while in-game (not in the main menu) to keep those shaders applied until the next time you go to menu while increasing performance.

In the heavier armored fights that's kind of the easiest way to win, but I guess that could be a more interesting challenge in the lower tier fights.
I did manage to rip a knights helmet off in one fight where I was just using fists and grappling though. I didn't even realize you could do that.

Cinematic DX12 causes some post processing to enable that makes the game really shine, but you can enable them on other settings by switching to cinematic in-game, then switching to your preferred setting.
With this, Epic and Cinematic DX12 both look almost the same (minus some very minute differences), but Epic runs much better

A good trick if you're not aware: you can start the forfeit process by holding G, then press escape to open the menu. It pauses the fight so you don't die, but doesn't pause the forfeit timer so you can just move on to the next match
