i still would rather fight it than longsword i think just because the AI is more competent with longswords, but the spike stick is like a black hole that sucks you in the instant you get grazed

The spikes fuck with your stamina really easy cause they are sharp, even if the bot isn't striking you actively you can still get stabbed a bit
My best method of clearing these is to try to catch a deflection and then immediately aim for the throat, with the Axe you can also aim for the arms

i always try to end the fights without killing but i use longsword. it fun to take little pot shots past their defense and fuck up their legs or disarm them instead of just landing a solid body/head shot

Not only for ease of use, but also just the raw feeling of POWER! Especially on tier 7.
I also like the versatility of having a weapon that can be used as a less-lethal blunt weapon AND as a deadly bladed one; like, if I'm feeling merciful, I can knock them out with the handle, or kill with the blade; as opposed to swords, where it's more probable to kill with.
And the throwing of the axe is MUCH easier for me, and more satisfying, when it lands!
