Did not have any sort of artifacting at all in the previous version and I could play smoothly upto 3x but with the new version it's artifacting like crazy. I've attached my settings too. Please suggest any workarounds/fix this.
#Lossless Scaling v0.8.0 causes Artifacting in RDR2

Bug in performance mode, will be fixed in a bit
Thank you @unborn ruin, awaiting the fix🙏🏻
Hi @unborn ruin, the issue still persists. Both in 2x and 3x. Any recommended settings that I can try?
then it's gotta be normal
Weird, cuz it wasn't there before the 0.8.0 update.
might be related to the plugin rather than lsfg-vk then?
Yeah, I think so too. I’ve also been getting visual glitches in RDR2 after updating to plugin 0.8.0. It seems like the issue is with the plugin — before the update, it ran really smoothly at 10W with the framerate locked at 40Hz. After 2x scaling, FPS was always stable at 80FPS. Now it's just all over the place 😅😅😅
So how do we fix the plug-in? Because +1 on whatever you wrote here. I'm currently using SD's FSR and I've downscaled the game's resolution with VSync set to Half from in-game settings to make it playable. I'm hoping there's some solutions you guys have for the plug-in
This issue seems to have been reported in other games as well, not just RDR2, so I think we should wait for a future update from the developers. Personally, I think the artifacting might be caused by lowering the TDP and locking the framerate to reduce heat and save quite a bit of battery when playing unplugged — meaning with VSync enabled. If you turn off VSync, the issue seems to disappear (at least from what I’ve observed).
For now, this is my temporary setup. It runs relatively smoothly, and the artifacting is less noticeable — though still present if you rotate the camera quickly.
SteamOS Settings:
- Lock the framerate to 60 FPS or to your display’s refresh rate (mine is an LCD).
- TDP: 10W
- You can lock the GPU clock at 1600 MHz if needed.
Plugin Settings:
- Scale: 2x
- Flow Scale: 70%
- Base FPS Cap: Off
- VSync: On
- Performance Mode: On
- Not using Advanced Settings
