#Issues with secondary gpu being used to render games.

I'm having an issue where the secondary gpu (1650 super) is being utilized instead of my primary gpu (3070ti) in games. I followed the guide to a T so I can't imagine there is any issue to the setup. When playing a game like slime rancher on max settings 1440p I get 140-160fps and my 1650s is at 95% utilization. When I switch my monitor port to my primary gpu, the secondary usage drops to 0 and now I have ~240fps. This is all without scaling mind you. Once I scale the 3070ti stays at 50% utilization and 1650s is at 85-95%. Unsure of what's going on here but my suspicion is that the game renders on the 3070ti but when sending the frame information to the 1650s there isn't enough bandwidth to send the full 240fps and therefore only 160fps gets sent which alleviates the stress on my 3070ti but saturates the 1650s trying to receive and display it.

A bit late timing... I'll be heading to sleep shortly. If you're using HDR, a PCIe limit is the most likely conclusion. The second slot is PCIe 3.0 x4 which isn't enough for 1440p 240hz passthrough, though it should be able to sufficient for something like 120 base fps with LSFG

That aside I wouldn't expect a 1650S to handle 1440p 240hz LSFG. Compare it to 1050ti data on the ?chart

Yeah I'm not using hdr but my monitor is 1440p 360hz lol. Guess that means I'm out if luck.

Would 4.0 x4 be enough assuming I got a gpu capable of gen 4?

I use that myself, I can test if it can transfer 360 later

Do you know if Gen4.0 x4 would ALWAYS be a bottleneck with 4k+HDR?
I have a 4090 as rendering GPU und a 6700 XT for frame gen. The 6700 XT sits in the PCIE4.0 x4 slot and frame gen feels very sluggish despite showing higher frame rates. But only with HDR enabled. Using resolution scaling doesn’t improve fps but only lowers utilization of both GPUs. Might that be a PCIE bottleneck?

If you've only tried one game with HDR, try another
