#A possible of "AMD's VSR or Nvidia's DLDSR" in the Lossless Scaling (LS) App?

Before you say anything I know you are going to say why do we need that in Lossless Scaling when both AMD and Nvidia have this feature already.

And my answer is that I was thinking maybe in terms of using a version of this feature (VSR/DLDSR) in LS with combination of letting a secondary GPU handle the task of providing higher resolution and let the main GPU handle the task of running the game to not loss performance "FPS": -

  • Both AMD & Nvidia doesn't give the option of multiple GPUs to handle a specific feature in their control panel.

  • Also I was thinking of this feature because of the idea of let's say you have a 1080p Native monitor and you want higher resolutions.

  • I saw videos that are REALLY eye opening and the fact that you can use DLSS + DLDSR together and the same goes to AMD FSR + VSR and the results are amazing!

  • And here are two examples where it's amazing: -

So I am really wondering if it's possible to have A version of this feature in Lossless Scaling because it doesn't require feature to be implemented in the game so it should be possible!

It has already been talked over and decided that ls won't be getting a downsampling feature

Why? Is their an issue 🤔?

Just out of scope for ls and you can do it without ls and your second gpu point is impossible

Why is second GPU handling the task is impossible exactly?

But It's technically not Actually higher 4K native resolution image but an algorithm that uses GPU resources to enhance the Native 1080p image as if it was a higher resolution image though? So I am kinda confused as to why is it impossible?

This can already be done with DSR

Just have your entire desktop be set to it's resolution and use ls to upscale from 1080 native to 4k DSR

So you can use a Secondary GPU to do LSFG and Upscaling but it's impossible to use Downsampling with a Secondary GPU?

Downsampling doesn't really use much resources though

Well judging by the videos that I see when you use DSR 4X to get from 1080p to 4K DSR you loss almost the same amount of FPS as native 4K 😅😅😅😅😅

DSR just take 4K Resolution and make down to 1440p or 1080 Monitor so basically same perf

True I just thought that maybe if Dowsampling was possible with a Secondary GPU handling the task it would be Sli but on steroids 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. It's very unfortunate that it's impossible though😔

But yes like Ajalon said change ur desktop resolution to DL/DSR 4K, make ur Game res to 1080 or 1440p or lower for more fps and than scale of

#

It work great

#

Or if ur game use DLSS/FSR/XeSS use this

#

Or NIS

#

I tested with Far cry 5 it look pretty good

It's actually amazing how we can use either VSR + FSR or DSR + DLSS and get a higher quality image without the need to upgrade your monitor

#

Sometimes is DSR/DL still better than 4K native

#

I have better Perf with DLDSR 2.25 4K and DLSS Perf than 1440p DLAA

You can basically buy cheap high refresh rate 1080p monitor and use DLDSR 2.28X (1620p) + DLSS Quality (1080p) and enjoy higher quality image with out paying extra money 👍

You know you have to admit this feature doesn't get the recognition it deserves because not alot of people are talking about using DLDSR + DLSS their is not alot of videos even Linus tech tips had a very short video talking about it

#

But Digital Foundry explained it really well though
