Guys, it's perfectly possible to make your monitor work with a refresh rate above the default (it's not recommended though). My 60hz notebook screen works perfectly in 66fps here...

honestly all u gotta do is just do custom resolution and just keep adding 1hz until ur monitor either stays black or says out of range and then press "n" on keyboard to revert and then go back to the one that worked and then apply custom resolution

its better if you have a display port rather than hdmi

i use display port its really very good i can over clock my monitor from 165 to 172hz

more than that it will start glitching

so it all just depends on the monitor

honestly the first monitor I bought was the koorui 165hz monitor on amazon when I started throwing away money in my first setup. Still use it to this day and it's worked perfectly. It's very cheap too
