#LS1 sharpening

I mean imo anything above 1 is too sharp
adding too much sharpness degredates image quality
Yeah but for video upscaling adding more could be beneficial.
Also the 1 value with Ls1 sharpening doesn't match the sharpening strength of the 1 value with fsr upscaling.
ye no shit
LS doesn't go to 10
while FSR does
LS at 1 sharpness is about the same as FSR 7 sharpness
These are just numbers, it doesn't represent the sharpening strength, and that's what i'm saying
no, they do
it's just that the scales aren't the same
1 kilometer isn't the same as 1 mile btu they are both a measure of distance
LS sharpness doesn't use the same scale
here I get it
you want it to be more comparable and be less confusing
but that's impossible the way the upscalers are designed
if you want them to be the same you need to make LS1 have 10 levels and 1 be the new 7
Ofc, your are right, but maybe it would be better to let every sharpening value represent overall the same sharpening strength
would lead lower settings to barely sharpen while higher ones sharpen too much
sadly it's not possible
Right
well speakign of that
between different games and applications some appear sharper at different settings
in games LS1 at 1 sharpness is the same as 7 for FSR but that isn't the same for videos
With fsr you can be way more precise and add more than with ls1, which is sad because of the clear superiority of ls1 upscaling.
Maybe i should do another suggestion
To clarify what i really mean
ye
I don't use it most of the time
I do prefer AMD FSR
but that's just a prefrence and I know LS1 is better
I think it would be better to maybe create a case next to the slider where you can manually write down the sharpening amount.
