#I am not sure if Frame Gen is doing the task

Also the game isn't on full screen
the FPS gets higher when i switch it off, around 80s
Specs-
Legion 5 15ACH6H
RTX 3060 140W
Ryzen 7 5800H
16GB DDR4 3200Mhz 1rx8 rank RAM
Ok I've heard the left side is the "real" frame and right side is the "generated"
but my question is
I was getting 80FPS "real" frames, so why am i not getting 240 "generated" frames
fg has a performance cost, so if you had 80 frames by default turning it on would lower it to say 70 or maybe even lower, so accordingly the “fake” frames are generated
well you probably have a 165 hz screen, so its better if you cap your fps to 55 using rtss and then do 3x, as no point in doing above 165 anyway...If you want rocksolid 55, turn on performance mode, but the quality of the generated frames will degrade a bit
else maybe try offloading ls to your igpu, and see how much of the performance you can regain
Interesting
Yes I do have 165Hz screen
the real frames are sometimes dropping down to 37FPS too
I capped it to 55 on RTSS and doing 3x on performance mode, yet its dropping to say 40FPS
ehh its alright, anyways it feels smooth and the frames are being generated
@odd crater scroll down in ls and try setting your render gpu to the igpu
I'm using DXGI as Capture API
Preferred GPU?
right
yea
and also in windows settings you need to set the lossless scaling application to use the igpu instead of dgpu
ok
i set that in NVidia control panel
ok this trick got me around 40-50FPS....
thanks! iits getting around 150FPS generated frames most of the time :)
hmm thats great, you are welcome...but tell me one thing
i get that fps at 1080p High, its 150 FPS generated now with 1080p Ultra :)
ok waiting for your question
fh5 by default you get >80-90 fps right?
yes
from that its dropping to below 50?
i was shocked that i got almost half the FPS reduction
thats strange
mind you the CPU is also a limit
maybe because of CPU bottleneck
i get bottlenecked in FH5
i have a dell one, same specs, 5800h , 3060.... in Alan wake 2 , i get around 20 fps drops (max), but this is huge 🙂
yea maybe who knows
Alan wake is more gpu intensive
And I believe yours is lower power
na, same, maxed out tgp
Few of my cores hit 85% until lol
ig ls needs cpu as well then
yep
Yes it does
Frick 5800h man
Most of my games I play I'm cpu limited
Wish I went for 11800h
I'm using advanced optimus. Does that make a difference? I'm booting into Dgpu only mode rn
well, yea, for me personally, its been 3 yrs with the laptop at this point, still runs fine ( cuz i play mostly gpu intensive games, so i dont feel such bottlenecks per se), aint getting another laptop though, till this thing breaks
Ah
So, just go higher in the resolution... it's a good way to avoid or minimize CPU bottleneck...
I am in normal mode, can you try with optimus off?
It's gonna tank the fps
3060 6gb not enough for 1440p
Doing so
@grizzled quest thanks for the suggestion tho
Also just bought lsfg today :)
Mind my noobiness
noice, do check out the dev log , whenever 2.9.1 drops, that is expected to improve the 3x frame gen..
Nice
Alright. Well, if you are not using upscaling, I think you could also try to lower the resolution of the game (I think it's Forza right there), and use LS1 with the Frame Gen, so you can see if the result is good for ya...
Also, lock your game FPS to 55
Stupid Nvidia Advanced Optimus.
Booted into Dgpu mode, same settings and it did the trick
@inland sinew it was novideo just being awful at software
Nice, now that's more like it
do cap it though at 55
else with variable frames you wont get smooth latency, and without constant latency, you might feel choppiness, and it wont feel as smooth
yes capped the FPS with RTSS at 55FPS
stutters are almost gone, cheers @inland sinew @grizzled quest ❤️
also could i stack this with FSR3FG mod?
in Cyberpunk 2077
This would be an interesting combo. But, i really don't know how to do it (my hardware is not good enough to this game)...
I already modded my CP2077 to have FSR3FG. Looks like i need to give it a try!
But, I know this is an internal mod (modifies the game files), and Lossless is a completely separated program. So, they should not conflict each other...
@odd crater if the fsr3 mods work fine with the game, and there are no latency issues, and it feels smooth there, then on top of this this will feel smooth as well
Ok
like, again taking example of alan wake 2,
default fps (medium , rt off) = 60-70 fps most of the times
same + fg mod = 85-95 fps most of the times
then using lsfg, if i cap at 55, then i get smooth 165 fps most of the times with performance mode
BUT
if the mod is lukeFZ mods, there are lots of choppiness, cause the default mod implementation has the same issues, and lsfg interpolates on top of those noisy frames
if the mod is nukem, for me, its much smoother, still nukem isnt perfect as well, it still suffers from choppiness occasionally..
if game support frame gen by default, i think , the feel will be much better...
(proof that i bought this software)
love the devs! great software
i kinda felt jelo that 4000 series got DLSS 3 FG
ok noted down
you from India?
cp2077 getting official fsr3 fg on 2.15 patch
noice :3
haha
you too?
yep
lol nice
i bought this for 114K inr(Legion 5) had issues with it multiple times just under 2 years
and my warranty expired today
bruh its been so long cdpr said fg is coming
ok i guess weh ave to take this to offtopic
