#Ls reducing fps and making it very laggy

What's the refresh rate of your monitor?
LS Frame Gen can't go above your monitor's refresh rate anyway
165
That means without frame gen you are already above your max refresh rate. So it wouldn't really make a difference
wait i'll show u my issue
it says that it's giving me 165
but it dosent feel like 165
Are you capping your game's FPS?
it also sometimes feel a bit laggy when i move
no
You should
You should cap it at a FPS that you system is able to maintain
like my monitor refresh rate?
Not necessarily
When you play the game look at the FPS
If your FPS is at 45-60 for example then cap it at 45 since your system can achieve that value constantly
and the problem will be solved?
I can't promise it but if you don't cap your FPS you are not using the app right
alright so i'll cap it on 60?
Because currently with Nvidia cards you cannot use Gsync with Lossless and going above your refresh rate will result in weird issues
If your system can constantly maintain 60 FPS, then yes
okay
Then set Frame Gen to x2 instead of x3
okay
If your game says 165/165 even if you cap your FPS then that means it's not detecting the game's FPS but your desktop's instead
Which is a bug a lot of people have in the current LS version
what should it say
If you use x2 Frame Gen it should say 60/120
60 which is its capped on correct?
Yes
60 is your actual FPS and 120 is the generated one
If you wanna go for your full refresh rate I'd suggest trying out 55 FPS cap at x3
alright lemme try this and i'll be right back with u
do u recommend doing full or no?
I personally recommend adjusting your refresh rate to your FPS if you can
So if you can reach 60 FPS I'd suggest setting your monitor to 120 Hz instead
let me try putting it to 55 and i'll put it to 45 instead of 60 and i'll tell u how it goes
If you set it to 45 then you'll need to set your monitor to 90 Hz (for x2) or 135 Hz (for x3)
like change the monitors refresh rate?
Yes
For perfect frame pacing your FPS needs to be 1/2 or 1/3 of your refresh rate
Or your refresh rate needs to be x2 or x3 of your FPS
This wouldn't be an issue if VRR would work with Nvidia cards but so far it only works with AMD/Intel.
So we have to do it that way
if capping didn't work ig that's the only thing i can do
What do you mean?
yk the issue with the sim that fps is not stable it depends on the plane or airport so sometimes it's 60
sometimes it's 45
sometimes it's 25
Yes that's why you have to set your FPS to the minimum you can reach
It's system specific though
You have to find out for yourself what works best
You can look up more in #📖⏐information
so what now?
What works for me:
Either click on the desktop shortcut in the bottom right corner of the task bar and then click the game's icon again (however on multiple screens that will cause discord on my second screen to disappear too and when I click on the discord icon to get it back it sometimes will read my desktop's FPS again)
Or while ingame press CTRL+Shift+Escape to open task manager while the game is running in the background and then close the task manager again (a bit more inconsistent solution, the above one works consistently for me)
You can try the lower solution either while LSFG is already active ingame or do the solution first and then activate it
Doesn't work for everyone unfortunately
In both cases make sure that you do the solution first and then activate LS
what if i disconnect my 2nd monitor
I mean you can try that
still
165/165
but my question is
is it working at least?
like even if it boosts my fps a bit
If it detects your desktop FPS then it's not correctly working
You won't really benefit from it this way
yeah nvm
it's not detecting
it's also giving me less fps
so if i didn't use it i'd get more fps
Can you try putting the game on your second monitor and outputting Lossless to your first?
i can't my other monitor is a 1920 x 1080 and my main 1440
plus i have it sideways
Oh
It would just be a way to see if it works
okay lemme see
I sometimes have weird flactuating FPS with Lossless but putting the media to my second monitor and outputting to my first fixes it
Yeah now it's working properly
That's a good question haha
Oh no wait
You were meant to output the game to your first monitor
In here
i did
If you did then you wouldn't have to play sideways lol
So if you put the game on your second monitor and output Lossless to you first it detects the FPS wrong again?
But if the first thing works why is it bad?
rn works 0 issues
so basically main monitor dosent detect 2nd monitor detects
there all 165 hz
Do you know what I mean with this?
No
then
If you put your game on monitor 2 for example
And output to Monitor 1 with Lossless
It should show the game on Monitor 2 with your normal FPS and on Monitor 1 it should show the game with your generated FPS
First:
How do you activate Lossless? Do you press the shortcut or do you click on scale and wait 5 seconds?
hotkey
That's good
I don't recommend doing that anyway
Hotkey is fine
I just meant if you put the game normally on your second monitor
And have your first monitor selected in Lossless settings as the output monitor
And then click on the game and press the hotkey
It should show the game on both screens
Oh lol
I did mean that yeah but I didn't expect it to look like that
Is it working like that at least?
it's bc my other monitor is sideways
yeah
I just wanted to see if it works in the first place
Yeah I don't really know. Lossless 2.9 is a bit weird
And then it doesn't work, right?
correct
Hm yeah it's strange
Do you have multi-display mode active in LS?
yes
should i try disconnecting my monitor and the multi display thing too?
cz i didn't disable it
when i turned off my monitor
It's pretty much trial and error
I had to figure out my personal fix (the desktop and task manager ones) too
Yeah
I hope it will be fixed in the next version
when is the next version releasing
I wanna know that too lol
We can't do more than be patient
And especially don't bother him
bother who
