#Game Engine FPS and Interpolating FPS (Draw FPS Option) difference.

I am using i5-8300H and GTX 1050 laptop. I've been using LS and LSFG for quite some time with multiple games. There are some games that run the FG smoothly and some aren't. I've been trying to apply FG on Monster Hunter World, done the steps and capped it at 30 (I have 60Hz monitor). This time LS stated that my fps was 27/53, is this a known issues for several games or did I missed some important steps?

lsfg requires gpu headroom available, so it will lower your game's real fps if your gpu is running full or close to full
here's what you can try:

  1. use the performance toggle for lsfg
  2. don't enable a scaling type if your game is running at native screen resolution
  3. set game to windowed and lower the game's resolution, then use a scaling type like LS1 or bicubic cas (least performance impact) to regain some performance

4 (nvidia only). don't use 555 nvidia driver. 551/552 should work better

I tried to turn the res down to 720p, to make sure that the utilization is as low as possible, it was around 45%-ish

#

I thought that the newest driver was fine, I might try to downgrade to 552.

#

Because other game was running fine

👍

#

try these things and hopefully it works. update this thread if not

I just downgraded my driver version, unfortunately the problem persists

#

i see... that's a shame. did you at least try the performance toggle of lsfg too?

visual robin
#

I tried other upscaling method, I tried running at native (windowed ofc), also did the lsfg performance toggle

#

It might be the problem is within the game tbh

#

Because other games do not behave this way, this is the only game so far that I tried that act up

#

I noticed other behavior: when I upscaled it, it will always starts at 30/60, and gradually goes down

hmmm... i do actually have the game installed as well, so i'm curious if i can replicate it

visual robin
#

Well, please do and share the result

brb lol

#

do you experience this anywhere in the game, in the open-world or when action happens? @visual robin

visual robin
#

both, either it was in the open world or the lobby

#

did you face the same problem?

versed minnow
#

i'm not experiencing the same issue at all

#

i'm curious though... can you try the following:

visual robin
#

lol, maybe AMD take another W

versed minnow
#

close LS
go to windows graphics settings and add LS
set LS to "power saver" (should be your intel igpu)
open LS and set preferred gpu to your 1050

visual robin
#

okay, i will give it a try

#

anyway, I am using an external monitor, so it should pass the MUX switch

versed minnow
#

oh nvm yeah. in that case it should actually both be set to your 1050

visual robin
#

and also, i tried, still no luck

#

😢

#

yeah, it doesn't make sense then. your nvidia downgrade should also have reset the driver to default settings afaik, so it's not that either

#

i'm guessing this is something nvidia specific, the game itself acting wonky for you or maybe, just maybe a new LS version will fix the issue for you. gotta wait and see for that one though

visual robin
#

Yeah, I do agree that it could be nvidia specific. Well, i hope that the next update might help

#

If it doesn't, then nvidia take an L, lol

#

well, thanks for the help
