#Solo Que

All this week I have exclusively been playing solo que bunny. To be honest, the majority of games have been miserable. While most of the time it comes down to things that can't be changed, There are a few things on a mechanics level that make things extremely difficult for solo bunnies. As most are aware, bunnies queing as a squad certainly do not need buffed. This is why I have been trying to think of suggestions to buff bunnies who qued solo without buffing squads. On the other side, every nerf to bunnies hits solo que WAY harder than it hits squads.

#1. Comms: Bunnies are punished for communicating with each other. Voice comms are heard by the monsters, pings come with voicelines the monsters can hear, and writing leavings you standing still. Not to mention while in a cage you really can't write anything without missing skill checks and burning your charge faster.

I'd love to keep the proxy chat where we can talk to the monsters. If at all possible, but bunnies need a voice chat to strategize without the monsters being able to over hear them. Since squads tend to use discord, this buff will not affect them. This alone should significantly improved the solo que and make it easier for experienced players to help out newer players.

The voice lines tied to pings really needs to be removed. Due to those voice lines a lot of bunny players don't use ping when they should. However, if bunnies gain a more useable voice chat, this buff would not be needed.

#

#2. Ticketmen: Ticketmen were a great addition to the game, however there seems to be FAR more of them then there were in previous alphas. This has resulted in matches where bunnies are unable to move around floors or even get close to objectives with out tigering the ticketman. I do not believe ticketmen should spawn in places where bunnies are unable to counter them, nor should they spawn on objectives. Ticketmen are a passive slowdown on bunny progression, and should not be as strong as they are. Against a squad the monster doesn’t have as much time to activate a whole lot of ticketmen, so nerfing the number of ticketmen and ensuring they are not covering any part of objectives should not affect Squad play, but will improve solo play.

#3. More info for new players in the game. I see alot of players that don’t know some of the basics. As the game has been getting more and more complex the learning curve to the game has gotten pretty steep. Currently, most of the information new players need is found outside of the game. I’d like to see a “training manuel” added to the game. While most people probably won’t ever look at it, there will be some that read through it. This manuel would include all the items, gears, abilities, Jack, and ticketmen. What they are, how they are used, counters, and
whatever else yall can think of to fill it with.

#

Side note. If yall send me all the info new players would need I would be willing to write up a training manuel for both bunnies and Monsters. Only cost yall a MrClockwork Cosmetic. 😘

@soft plume I think the training manual is very necessary. It's worth mentioning that the one-week test on the 29th coincides with the celebration day in our country, which means that more new players will be able to see this game. Moreover, currently we are also live-streaming every day to let more people see these cute bunnys

I feel that the problem with soloq experience has something with the magician gameplay too. The magician gameplay is completely reactive, it is not active at all. So if you as soloq bunny do any objectives, magician will go for you, because he has nothing better to do and because if no one didnt do anything or if he didnt find anyone he knows for sure where someone is.

The only way to find bunnies are the objectives and ticketman, but ticketman is expensive at the beginning of the match, so the only active thing magician can do you need to pay something.

The problem for soloq is that, you will do an objective and you will not tell the others to do something else, but i dont see that specific thing as a problem since your teammates will receive a notification that someone is doing an objective. That being said, one big problem that we have is new players as soloq bunnies. It will make the experience bad for the bunny that knows how to play and for the player that is new because they dont know what is going on and dont know what to do. If only one bunny is doing the objectives the game will be much harder and that actually has to happen because if not so it would be an 1v1 game. So you are the only one doing objectives, the magician will always come for you and you will be tunneled out, not because magician wanted to or because you played poorly, but because you were the only one he could find and nobody did anything else to progress with you.

Every bunny relies on their teammates. When it comes to my little experience as soloq bunny i do objectives and i wait for someone else to do an objective, because magician cant do anything about 2 objectives at the same time and i dont think people see the game this way. If you have a rope, anyone that gets on 2 floor will make magician lose that floor forever.

That being said i think that, if we think about solutions in helping new players to learn quickly or to start thinking like that it will improve the overall expecience of soloq.
I agree that some changes in sound would help a little the soloq bunnies, and i say a little because not everybody would talk anyway and that will not make a difference telling a new bunny to do the high striker in performance hall while you do the door on circus.

**IDEAS **👇

The main difference between soloq and coms is information, also thinking about new players is really important. If we give players information it would help a lot soloq, so here are my contributions for that.

  • Give the bunnies HUD information to which room/wing they are at and what they can do on that wing, for exemple: Performance Hall
High stricker not charged/ highstriker on, zip line available; door 0/1 gear.

  • Helping with the HUD. If you are low charge you need more visual notifications on that, also more notification if you are broken (no life gears left) and if you are broken or need charge put some little tasks on the screen like find oil and the icon of oil. (i think those tasks should be optional, it should start activated but it could be deactivated)

  • The HUD also indicates what is happening to the bunnies like being chased or got caught, but new players dont know that those mean so we need more tips like that on loading screen/searching for a match/ awakening phase.

  • If needed the HUD could tell all the team in which room/wing everybody is like Performance Hall 2, etc.

  • The zipline gets highlighted when you finish the high striker so what if the game showed where the bunny can place a gear in certain range? The bunny would have to explore the map and see the mechanism first and then whey they get a gear in x meters the mechanism would be highlighted for them to place the gear.

Sorry for the big text this_is_fine

seems reasonable to me. None of your ideas will have an impact on Squads, but will have a large impact on improving solo que. Great Ideas

Yeah I've basically stopped playing for the most part this recent alpha just cause playing solo is so miserable, and unless I can que with a buddy or a full squad I just don't even wanna play lol

I feel ya. On top of mechanical issues which can be adjusted, as a solo que'd bunny you gotta team with randoms too. I played 3 matches late last night. 2 of them I had a guy writing a novel about how hopeless playing bunny was. So he was standing still most of the match typing and wondering how he keeps losing. The 3rd one I lost 3 gears in the first 5 min (just bad luck on my part, not tunneling). Finally found a lock pick. Had a team mate grab the chest I was going for and use the oil can in the chest... he was down 1 gear... I stopped trying at that point. lol

Yeah, had a game where even when I qued with a buddy we just wouldn't do anything. We had the hardest map where magician could just walk to every zone in like 3 secs but we still eneded up getting to 3f getting rope down and trying to make progress

#

The other 2 teammates doing absolutely nothing, we commed rope was down pinged it told them where it was asked them to go there to help get more progress and they'd just ignore it

#

I don't even think I saw them get to the 3f especially because they asked later in the match if we had rope down

#

Was so frustrating haha

The problem for soloq is that, you will do an objective and you will not tell the others to do something else, but i dont see that specific thing as a problem since your teammates will receive a notification that someone is doing an objective.

the thing that really hurts here is that because theres such little information presented about what a bunny can do or where to go, speaking anecdotally starting out i would see an objective being completed or used and instead of using that time to open my own objective, i just run over to that one and inadvertently give the hunter free pressure/crowding because its basically the only option that i had from my perspective. when thats also combined with a one time use passage like a striker or cannon, id run over there hoping to go up and not even realise the passage isnt useable anymore until i do something and keep running around like a headless chicken

#

beyond tutorials and making your objectives a lot lot clearer, there also needs to be some kind of strategy guide to teach you things like opening a second objective while your teammate distracts the hunter on another one
